I have 12v MR16 halogen spot lights and i have bought 12v LED MR16, but they dont work, WHY?
I have some MR16 LED spot lights, and i tried to put them into my current MR16 plugs but when i go to turn them on they just flick on for one second then turn off again. Why is this. The lights obviosly have a transformer in because normal 12v halogen lights work fine. Is it a different transformer that is needed for LED if so what are these called. how much are they?

- Your halogen lights are being fed by a step-down transformer, true. But I bet it is an AC-out transformer. LEDs required correctly polarized DC current. Can they be reversed in the socket? Sometimes LED replacement lamps have one diode in place to rectify AC - but it has to be placed in the socket correctly. Otherwise you will need to get a DC-out transformer.
