Commercial Led Lighting Knowledge Base

I looking for a lighting bulb based on LED? Any idea about commercials solutions? My friend and I interested in various commercial products for home use as a replacement for regular light bulb, our preferred solution is that it should be based on LED technology. The perfect thing will be to find a light bulb that is in fact a LED light and can fit any location without any modification, just buy and install.

Where can I find a LED light wholesaler in Brisbane or Australia? I want to buy LED lights from a wholesaler in Brisbane or anywhere in Australia as long as they can post to Brisbane is fine. Must be good quality and suitable for commercial jobs. Would also be good if they actually have them in stock so I don't have to wait for weeks on end.
Need some help on LED brightness comparison? Hi everyone, I'm planning on installing LED lights in the interior of my car. I've read about the legality, and it seems that green lights are legal on the interior. I have found suppliers that offer a 23,000 mcd LED with a viewing angle of 15 degrees, and another LED that is rated at 8,000 mcd and has a viewing angle of 10 degrees. I want something that will produce a bright glow, as the light bars will be hidden from direct view. There will be an LED every 1/2" of the light bars. None of the commercial light bar manufacturers are able to supply me with either a lumen rating or a candela rating, so I have nothing to compare this with. I have little experience with lighting but a fair amount of experience with circuits and the like. Which would be the better buy for me, in terms of brightness? Is the higher mcd rating a brighter LED, and is 23,000 mcd bright enough for my application?
Where would I find the tape measure with the LED light on TV? I want to buy my Dad this tape measure that either Canadian Tire, Home Hareware, or Home Depot sells. No one seems to know where to find it. It's got an LED light for accurate measurement. I remember it sells for $17.99. It's a fairly new product, and i've only seen the commercial once. P.S. if you don't know the answer and have nothing good to say then don't, I don't need any smart A$s comments about how nondescript my question is.
Where can i find a job having to with lights and LED's? I make custom jobs having to with lights and LED's. What i make you can not find in stores. It is completely custom. In my past I have created dancefloors, stages, dj booth, and I can even decorate resturants and bars by putting lighting all around.I make residential and commercial jobs. I give 3 year warranty and once again any job having to do with LEDS or lighting. Where can i find a consistant job having to do with lights and LED's.

Is it legal in NYC to have amber led strobe light on my front of windshield? So I own an construction company that is certified with NYCHA and do demolition jobs and all kinds of construction jobs. I wanted to have led strobe light in my car for safety at work area. It only be amber flashing just like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDmkNMXGams but in amber. Will I get ticketed or pulled over by the police?? The car insurance and registration is in my construction name so is basically commercial. It isn't an truck it is an sedan. Please comment soon!!
I am making a light and wondering what blinking, strobing, or flashing rate is the most eye catching. 10/sec? I plan on making an LED bike light to help alert cars and make myself more visible during the early morning or twilight when people are not quite awake, or not paying attention as well. I have to ride in early to be on time for work and don't feel like spending $100-500 on a commercial light when I can build one of my own for $20. Of course the flashing rate has to be legal and I don't want to cause seizures either. I have super bright LEDs already picked out in both White and Blueish Green taking advantage of the Rods and Cones sensitivity within the eye, now I just want to get drivers attention via the flashing of the lights but want the optimum flash rate... Data behind your answer is always helpful. Thanks!
does this camera have bulb mode for the shutter? i have a samsung s730 and im trying to do light drawings you know like the sprint commercial where they draw pictures with led lights and i can do it but can only make an 8 second picture, i hear that with bulb mode you can hold down the shutter button for as long as you need it and you can take a picture of a good grafitti drawing so how do i set my camera to bulb mode
Why not just let coaches challenge whatever they want - and if they lose they lose? I'm tired of the NFL because of how stupid the rules are. It started when instant replay was removed for taking too long. But then the refs botched the Oilers, Bills playoff game by letting receivers run out of bounds and catch the ball, which led to the biggest playoff comeback in NFL history and a third consecutive Bills Superbowl, where they got routed. So the NFL came back with challenge flags, which was a good idea. But now they've complicated what can and can't be challenged to an unimaginable level! The epitome was the Bears, Cardinals game on Monday night a couple of years ago, which led to the Coors light commercial where the Cardinals coach says, "They were who we thought they were!" Point being, the game plan was right, but the outcome of the game was worse than flipping a coin in terms of messed up calls and stupid rules, but the coach wasn't allowed to explicitly say so. Well, I understand, I agree, and I'm fed up with all the BS! I say, either let coaches challenge anything they want to challenge without limitations (i.e. the flag is theirs to waste if they want): when they're out, they're out. Otherwise, at least stop punishing coaches by removing their flags even when they're right. If I challenge the ref, and he's wrong, I should keep my flag. Just give coaches like 1 or 2 flags, and let them keep them when they're right. What do you think? Should coaches be allowed to challenge anything they want without being told, "You can't challenge that because..."? Or should they keep their challenge flags when they're right? Cecil, does the coach keep the challenge flag if he's right? Or do they take it from him anyway? Jelaisis, in general, playing well enough to overcome bad calls is definitely the right attitude; but sometimes the competition has the same mindset, and only technology can ensure that the right calls are made when the competition is just too solid for the disadvantage to be overcome regardless of one's effort. For example, the 1993 Oilers - Bills game was the biggest comeback in NFL playoff history at that time, and replay clearly showed multiple long touchdowns awarded to the Bills after receivers ran out of bounds and were intentionally allowed to run down the field undefended after the cornerbacks pointed out to the ref's that the receivers had become ineligible. If you find a full-length video of that game, you'll see the cornerbacks literally pointing and letting them go - trusting the ref's to do their jobs. The defense played extremely well, and the touchdowns were not earned. You don't give a team 21 points and the momentum and just tell the other team to play well enough ...to overcome the disadvantage. That's why instant replay was brought back, and that's why it should be fixed. M of L, I agree: unlimited flags would be horrible. But giving a coach his challenge flag back every time he's right would be better than allowing ref's to make unlimited wrong calls. After all, the only way the coach could keep throwing his flag is if the ref's keep making the wrong call. Everyone is human - including ref's. They know they can make mistakes: and they do a good job of fixing them when they realize they've made one. But I hate seeing the tit for tat, "You can challenge this but can't challenge that" - it's just too complicated. Ref's can have bad days too you know - but it's effect on the outcome of the game should be minimized for sure.
patent question PLEASE HELP? ok so im trying to set up my very small online business of making LED lighting for aquariums and i ran across the most ridiculous patent ever. using LEDs over a marine tank. i cant believe someone can even patent that. thats like me saying im going to patent sleeping on a pillow. its really ridiculous.then theres another patent by the same company of placing LEDs on a flat surface and using electrical current to turn them on. another ridiculous patent. thats basically patenting turning on a light switch. and third is using one or more lights to create a hue of lighting in a liquid. so this company orbitec is really getting me mad. but my question is. i know commercial companies have to pay royalties to them but i built my own led fixture for my personnel tank. does this mean im breaking a patent. and say my friend wants me to build one for his tank am i breaking there stupid patent "the method of using LEDs over a marine setting"? and if I do decide to continue with my company how much are royalty charges and how does it work. do i need a lawyer or something or do i just pay them and thats it?
Any name suggestions for my invention? So for my science class, im going to make a pillow that has built in speakers so you can plug in your ipod and listen to music on the pillow as you sleep. There are also built in led lights that produce a soft glow inside the pillow. I'm making a homemade commercial for this product, so i need a good name for the pillow. Any suggestions? Thanks
Is it possible after setting up your own business to not do any work and still make loads of money? Im 23 and set up my own business at the end of 2009 importing LED lights from China for domestic and Commercial premises in Ireland and the UK. I have so far recruited a sales team of roughly 20 in which sells directly to end users, sources retailers and negotiates what products to buy, prices etc. form the suppliers in China. Im at the point that Im making a healthy turnover and net profit and have enough people in place that the business could run by itself with out me being there while I still make a huge profit. I absolutely despise working but love the idea of being extremely wealthy. I could think of a thousand better things to be doing especially if I had loads of cash then devote most of my life to work. I dont want to sell my business as I predict the next 10 years in LED the market will be huge. I want your opinions on what Is the best way to keep my business running and making a profit with out me being there?
Did you know there were no commercial planes on 9/11? Only military planes? The hole in the pentagon was too small for a commerical plane. The engine was also too small and the piece of the plane was too delicate for a commercial plane. Plus, the FBI video footage shows the exact shape of a military radio controlled plane. In shanksville there is a similar size hole, too small for a commercial plane, which could mean only one thing. Look up a picture of the second plane before it hits the tower, it is darker than a commercial plane and has no windows. And the first plane there is only one picture of it, and you can see a flash of light below the plane before the plane hit the tower, which was an explosion which caused the plane to blow up into a fire ball (it wouldn't have done that without explosives). And if it had that many explosives on it, it had to be military. Do you understand how monumental this type of knowledge is? All this time we were led to believe in hijackers and passengers facing a horrible death. When in fact, there were no commercial planes, thus no hijackers, and no killed passengers. If you think you know a family of a deceased passenger, prove it, otherwise there is absolutely no record of any of the passengers. In fact, if you go on the social security death index, many of those supposed passengers do not even come up on the SSN death index. Rather than feeling sorry for the passengers that do not exist, we should instead be angry that we were lied to. And for anyone that just feels the need to insult me because of what I'm saying, I just pray you can at least have an open enough mind to live a happy life. the hole was too small for a commercial plane, plus this video shows witnesses seeing a military plane http://www.prlog.org/10322926-independent-investigation-into-pentagon-attack-yields-alarming-information.html sorry, they did not ID the bodies, in fact they didn't even find any bodies. And the hole is still too small for a commercial plane. What are your thoughts on this and how do you feel about it? ............................................ ............................................
Why does the media keep telling us that a COMMERCIAL plane was used on 9/11 when it was a MILITARY plane? The hole in the pentagon was too small for a commerical plane. I've been wanting to get back into sewing recently after not having touched a machine in 8 years...? Most of what I know was what my grandmother taught me on her old Singer 5528 when I was a kid in the 80's. I'm planning on buying a new Singer and I'm baffled by all the 'new' features on machines nowadays! The following are my basic questions: Are most machines really plastic now? Even the Singer Inspiration(s)? Is a one-step buttonhole really that much easier? Do I truly need an automatic needle threader? Is an LED light brighter (and not as HOT) as a lightbulb? What about automatic tension? Yes? No? Irrelevant? Finally - between the machines in the Singer Inspiration line and the Commercial Grade line what's gonna be most comparable in quality to my grandmother's machine? I've heard even the CG's have plastic parts that don't last!
My TV shuts off on it's it own and won't start up till I unplug and Plug it back in? Hey.. so on my Tv, this has been happening for about 3 months now. Everytime the screen get's too bright (I.E During an Macantosh Commercial, or when playing Halo 3 and the solar flares are used) The TV will shut off on It's own, and the LED power light will flash on and off, and the TV won't turn on again until I go over, Unplug the TV, and plug it back in. Anyone know how this can be fixed? or do I need a new TV all together?
Can LEDs be the new light? Yes, we have LED flashlights, vehicle tail lights, and a few other things. Has anyone thought of putting it where it matters now. Saving energy is a huge priority right now(or should be). Will we be getting them installed in the home/work space, or vehicles anytime soon? We have LED headlights on our HMMVWs out here in Iraq. Put them on some commercial vehicles. They actually work and I can't find a disadvantage of using them. It'll probably make those electric cars run a little longer. Replace the fluorescent/incandescent ceiling lights in the home/office. They use a lot less energy than the other options. We have the technology down, but why isn't it getting put to use? $190/ea., and no they're not bullet-proof. If more companies invest in LED research and production, they won't be so expensive.
Does anyone else think Raw is improving a lot + YWWA Breakdown Results Part 1? British Connection celebration After British Connection came off from a big win against 101, Punker, and Scene at King of the Ring, it was time for them to celebrate. They busted out all the stops. They had a table filled with chips, pretzels, beer, and balloons to the ring-posts. They boasted about their big victory and the fans cheered them like the home town team! Then as RNW popped the beer and champaign, The Connection began to drink up and start the party! But The World Is Our’s music hit and they came out. The tag champs also received a pretty good reaction from the crowd, but they were not there to celebrate. Instead they put a damper on the party. They said they were sick of The Connection. Y2J talked and said him and Alex are the tag champs and have been for 6 months! And The Connection gets booked more than they do! When Y2J said that the fans cheered. For The Connection. He said the fans even liked them better than him and Alex. Again the fans cheered for The Connection. This only made Y2J and Alex angrier. Especially when a section of the crowd began chanting “Go home to Mexico”. That’s when they were pushed too far. And they attacked RNW and #1 Peep. They ruined their party scene and threw them out of the ring. Then they stalked down Amie, and in a heartless act, Alex pushed her to the ground. The crowd began boo’ing and flipping the finger to The World Is Ours; the team they once loved. Match 1: Jordan vs The Funking Punk After a shocking display of ruthlessness by Jordan on Sunday, he was set to face 1 of the 4 men he attacked. The Hardcore Champ, The Funking Punk. This turned out to be the best wrestling match of the night. Punk started off by running and jumping on top of Jordan as the bell rang. The fans were all for Punk, and despised Jordan. Punk worked on Jordan hitting a few fist shots, a dropkick, and getting the crowd pumped. Then after 4 minutes of taking control he clotheslined Jordan to the outside, but he landed on his feet. And when Punk dove over the rope Jordan caught him and slammed him on the outside. This led to a commercial. When YWWA returned Jordan was giving Punk a backward bear hug. Jordan had it locked in tight and when it looked like Punk was about to escape he picked him up and slammed him down on his face. He went for the pin but Punk got a shoulder up. Jordan then kneed the back of Punk and ran for a big splash. But Punk moved and Jordan hit the mat. Punk then rolled up Jordan but he got a kick out. Then Punk ran off the rope and when he came back to Jordan, Jordan hit him with a back body drop. He went for another pin but again Punk kicked out. Jordan then was set to end everything and went for a powerbomb. But when Punk was in the air be began punching Jordan in the head causing Jordan to fall back and Punk to land on top of him. Punk went for a pin but Jordan got out at 2. At that point Punk had the ball in his court. He worked a fast pace on Jordan for a good 5 minutes until climbing to the top rope and he hit a giant crossbody. 1, 2, kick out. Punk was so close to victory. Again he waited for Jordan to get up and he ran off the rope. But when he came by Jordan he was hit with a sidewalk slam. Punk landed directly on his side. Jordan then pulled him up and hit his Gorilla Press! Unfortunately for him, Punk managed to roll out of the ring before being pinned. At that point Jordan was angry. He ran to the outside and hit Punk’s skull off everything. Steps, posts, barricades, and the announce table until eventually the ref counted a double countout. But Jordan didn’t care. He continued his attack until he hoisted Punk up for a second Gorilla Press, this time slamming him to the outside. Jordan once again left a huge impact. Winner: Jordan 23 Match 2: Golden Falcon (debut) vs RT The mysterious figure known as Golden Falcon was ready to make his first YWWA appearance. He came out to a completely gold entrance filled with golden lights. When the bell rang the match took place. He ran and locked up with RT showing he had some seriously fantastic pure wrestling skills. He handled RT for a few seconds showcasing his talent. But RT retaliated with a dropkick. But Falcon got up immediately and met RT with a big clothesline. The crowd was very impressed and cheered him on. He pulled up RT and hit him with a big suplex, after holding RT up in the position for a few seconds. He then made his way to the top rope and hit a picture perfect moonsault to get the 3. Falcon managed to get an easy and very impressive debut victory. Winner: Golden Falcon
Electric flower planter? A couple years ago there were these electronic flower planters that you could have on a desk or table. They're oval in shape, white and have an overhead LED or UV light. They were advertised all over the place in commercials and on the shopping channel. If someone could tell me what they were called, it would help to alleviate my insanity. Thanks! I found my answer: http://www.aerogarden.com/ Thanks.
Is EL PASO a sign of what the rest of America can expect from ILLEGAL ALIENS? More and more Mexico drugs are coming here is this because with more and more illegals aliens this also brings increases in drugs, crimes. Is EL PASO THE GATEWAY FOR DRUGS? EL Paso set's the tone.Bridge inspectors seize 1,667 pounds of pot (5:18 p.m.) By Louie Gilot / El Paso Times El Paso bridge inspectors made their second-largest drug bust of the year Tuesday at the Bridge of the Americas commercial cargo facility when they found 1,677 pounds of marijuana in a shipment of light fixtures, Customs and Border Protection officials said. The estimated street value of the drugs is $1.7 million. No arrests were made. Drug smugglers are increasingly attempting to cross narcotics strapped to the bodies of passengers in vehicles at the international bridges in El Paso, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said. The latest reported seizure occurred about 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Paso del Norte Bridge when two Juárez women were found with a total of 32 pounds of cocaine hidden in girdles they were wearing, federal officials said. The women were passengers in a 1993 Buick Century. "It used to be very rare, almost never seen, that someone would have dope strapped to their body when they were in a vehicle. It used to be mostly pedestrians coming in the (pedestrian) line" with contraband on their bodies, Customs and Border Protection spokesman Roger Maier said. Maier said border inspectors in the past 12 months have seen an upward trend in similar smuggling attempts. An exact number of cases was not immediately available. The girdle cases have involved both men and women. The drug is usually cocaine, which has a higher dollar value than marijuana."It's another thing the officers have to focus on, another threat," Maier said. In the Tuesday incident, an officer at an inspection booth at the Paso del Norte Bridge became suspicious when some of the occupants in the car were nervous and had a bulky appearance, officials said. The Buick was sent to secondary inspection. An officer spotted a bundle in the waistband of one of the women as she got out of the car. A drug-sniffing dog reacted to that woman's seat in the car. A subsequent pat-down search of the women led to the discovery of the cocaine. Photos provided by Customs and Border Protection showed that both women had large builds. Martha Alicia Rincon Marquez, 36, was allegedly wearing a girdle with five bundles weighing a total of 13.1 pounds of cocaine. Maria Del Carmen Castro Lucero, also 36, allegedly had five bundles totaling 18.9 pounds of cocaine, Customs and Border Protection officials said. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $640,000. "This important and sizeable seizure was the direct result of a diligent and focused CBP officer performing a thorough primary inspection," CBP El Paso Port Director David Longoria said in a news release. An investigation continues.
why do people hate nasa so much? when it gets a about HALF PERCENT of our country's budget? NASA has done so much for America..sure it "wastes" a half percent of our total budget especially when it "wasted" funds I found this somewhere) Since 1976, about 1,400 documented NASA inventions have benefited U.S. industry, improved the quality of life and created jobs for Americans. The Apollo program has helped change the way of life in America, especially in health care. Here are some of the inventions contributed by the Apollo program. Kidney dialysis machines were developed as a result of a NASA developed chemical process that could remove toxic waste from used dialysis fluid. As a medical CAT scanner searches the human body for tumors or other abnormalities, the industrial version, or advanced computed tomography inspection system, finds imperfections in aerospace structures and components, such as castings, rocket motors and nozzles. A cardiovascular conditioner developed for astronauts in space led to the development of a physical therapy and athletic development machine used by football teams, sports clinics and medical rehabilitation centers. A hospital food service system employs a cook/chill concept for serving food. The system allows staff to prepare food well in advance, maintain heat, visual appeal and nutritional value while reducing operating costs. Athletic shoe design and manufacture also benefited from Apollo. Space suit technology is incorporated into a shoe's external shell. A stress free "blow molding" process adapted from NASA space suit design is also used in the shoe's manufacture. Freeze-dried food solved the problem of what to feed an astronaut on the long-duration Apollo missions. Insulation barriers made of aluminum foil laid over a core of propylene or mylar, which protected astronauts and their spacecraft's delicate instruments from radiation, is used to protect cars and trucks and dampen engine and exhaust noise. Water purification technology used on the Apollo spacecraft is now employed in several spinoff applications to kill bacteria, viruses and algae in community water supply systems and cooling towers. Filters mounted on faucets can reduce lead in water supplies. Process for bonding dry lubricant to space metals led to the development of surface enhancement coatings, which are used in applications from pizza making to laser manufacture. Each coating is designed to protect specific metal group or group of metals to solve problems encountered under operating conditions. Digital signal-processing techniques, originally developed to enhance pictures of the Moon for the Apollo Program, are an indispensable part of Computer-Aided Tomography (CAT) scan & Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologies used today worldwide. Vacuum metallizing techniques led to an extensive line of commercial products, from insulated outer garments to packaging for foods & from reflective blankets to photographic reflectors. Cordless power tools & appliances are one of the most successful commercial spin-offs of space-based technology. Cool suits, which kept Apollo astronauts comfortable during moon walks, are today worn by race car drivers, hazardous area workers, & people with specific health problems. A hollow retroreflector, a mirror-like instrument that reflects light & other radiation back to the source, is used as a sensor to detect the presence of hazardous gases in oil development, chemical plants, waste storage sites & locations where gases could be released into the environment. TV Satellite Dish NASA developed ways to correct errors in the signals coming from the spacecraft. This technology is used to reduce noise (that is, messed up picture or sound) in TV signals coming from satellites. Medical Imaging NASA developed ways to process signals from spacecraft to produce clearer images. (See more on digital information and how spacecraft send images from space.) This technology also makes possible these photo-like images of our insides. Vision Screening System Uses techniques developed for processing space pictures to examine eyes of children and find out quickly if they have any vision problems. The child doesn't have to say a word! Ear Thermometer Instead of measuring temperature using a column of mercury (which expands as it heats up), this thermometer has a lens like a camera and detects infrared energy, which we feel as heat. The warmer something is (like your body), the more infrared energy it puts out. This technology was originally developed to detect the birth of stars. Fire Fighter Equipment Fire fighters wear suits made of fire resistant fabric developed for use in space suits. Smoke Detector First used in the Earth orbiting space station called Skylab (launched back in 1973) to help detect any toxic vapors. Now used in most homes and other buildings to warn people of fire. Sun Tiger Glasses From research done on materials to protect the eyes of welders working on spacecraft, pro also could NASA use some of the stimulus package money for fund it for a decade? not saying who hates or who loves nasa im saying why do people hate nasa...when nasa has done so much... Remember that scene in "The Doors" where Jim Morrison found out his bandmates had sold "Light My Fire" for use in a car commercial? After a heartfelt tirade about how this was a violation of the music, of the fans and of themselves, Morrison proceeded to trash the studio. What a difference a few decades make. Today, landing a song in the right commercial can do more for a young band's career than landing a recording contract. And the list of stars who have signed on to participate in commercials is longer than a Ray Manzarek keyboard solo. Even old-school acts that very well could have been down the hall from the Doors while Morrison went ballistic (like the Rolling Stones, the Who and Led Zeppelin) have gotten in on the act. Now, you probably think I'm trying to illustrate the journey of the artist from idealist to capitalist. But actually, for me, this anecdote illustrates something more profound: the seismic shift in people's attitudes toward music in advertising. After all, he's hardly alone. Jack White is writing Coke songs, the Black Eyed Peas wrote for Snickers, and Bob Dylan is appearing in iPod ads. The lines that once separated artists from the dreaded perception of commercialism seem to have intertwined and begun to mate. How did this happen? I believe there were three key factors that brought this shift about: 1. A few great pieces of creative. Forward-thinking brands like Gap, Target, Volkswagen and the work we did for Mitsubishi changed the game. Those campaigns showed fans and artists that not only was licensing music in advertising not a career-ending move, but in many cases, it could be a career-launching move. What these campaigns also had in common was their unprecedented use of unknown bands, shifting the paradigm from one of borrowed interest to one of discovery. When Madonna sold "Ray of Light" to AT&T, it felt crass. When Nick Drake's "Pink Moon" was introduced to a whole new generation in the VW Cabrio ad, it felt like a revelation. 2. Napster. iTunes. Clear Channel. And all the other plagues that have visited the beleaguered music industry. We're now living through the first generation of people for whom music has simply always been free. And those who do pay for music don't want to—and no longer have to—pay for albums, but instead, individual songs. Add to that the fact that Clear Channel keeps DJs playing established hits instead of discovering new ones, and the result is a music industry desperately looking for new revenue streams and ways of launching new acts. 3. Hip-hop culture. The dominant culture in pop music today has a different set of rules. Unlike the idealistic punks or rockers or singer/songwriters of decades past who had a disdain for and a distrust of corporate America, and to a certain extent of money itself, in hip-hop culture, getting paid is the point. It's not selling out. It's buying in. You've got rappers as CEOs of their own record labels and fashion lines, and shows like MTV's "Cribs" celebrating the material rewards of success. This kind of ambition to monetize the music might have been seen as exploitive or unseemly in years past, but not in hip-hop culture. And hip-hop culture is the dominant culture influencing American youth today. So where does it go from here? I hate predicting the future, but the present has gotten pretty darn interesting. My agency, Deutsch, just completed a campaign for Old Navy with the new tag line "Get Your Fash' On." To launch the line, we wanted to do more than just put the tag line on the end of the ads—we wanted to seed it in pop culture. So, we commissioned up-and-coming acts like Len Price 3 and Fannypack to write full-length songs for the spots, with one catch. They had to work the tag line into the chorus. Not only were they willing to participate, but they actually negotiated the right to retain a measure of control of the songs, so they can perform them and include them on upcoming albums if they took off. Imagine: a band writes a song for an ad campaign, with "chorus lyrics" written by an ad agency, that goes into a TV commercial for a brand that makes someone say, "Great song, who wrote that?," which leads that person to seek out the band and all of the other songs it has written. The brand gets a cool association that's uniquely its own. For the listener? A new favorite band. For the act? An introduction to an audience who otherwise might never have known it existed. It's kind of crazy. It's also kind of cool. But most of all, it's the kind of thing we can expect a lot more of. Is corporate America championing independent music? Or corrupting it? Or saving it? Depends on your point of view, I suppose. But two th
truth story of armania? As a bridge between Asia and Europe, with its straits connecting The Black Sea with the Mediterranean and its geopolitical situation at a point where the Central Asian, Caucasian and Middle Eastern natural energy sources intersect, Turkey draws the attention of the entire world. The Ottoman Empire in the past and Turkey at present has always been an arena for which intrigues were incessantly designed. The colonialist superpowers wishing to eradicate the Ottoman Empire from the world by dividing it did not fail to use in their schemes also the Armenians who coexisted in peace with the Turks for so many centuries. There are today just like in the past, several countries striving to secure themselves political and economic benefits at the expense of Armenian community. Monuments accusing Turks and Turkey of having committed genocide are being erected in some countries; decisions intending to recognise the so called genocide are brought into the parliamentary agenda in several countries and even voted for in some others. Issues that need to be left to historians are turned into means of self interest by the politicians. The Armenians who were ousted from one place to the other, pushed into wars, and treated as third rate citizens throughout the history by the Romans, Persians and Byzantines. After the advent of Turks into Anatolia, they benefited from the just, humane, tolerant and unifying traditions and beliefs of their new neighbours. The period that lasted until the end of the nineteenth century when the apogee of these developments and relations was attained, was the golden age of Armenians. In fact, the Armenians were by far the greatest beneficiaries of the opportunities offered by the Ottoman Empire to all industrious, capable, honest and straightforward citizens of the non-Moslem communities. Being exempted from the military service and to a large extent from taxation, they had the opportunity to excel themselves in trade, agriculture, craftsmanship and administration and therefore were rightly called the “loyal nation” because of their loyalty and ability to interact with the Ottomans. There were so many Armenians who spoke Turkish, who even conducted their rites in this language , who rose to topmost public service posts such as the Ministries and Under-Secretariats of State for the Public Works, Navy, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Treasury, Posts and Telegraph and Minting. There were some who even wrote books in Turkish and foreign languages on the Problems of the Ottoman Empire . With the start of the decline of the Ottoman Empire, the European powers began to intervene in its affairs and degeneration became evident in the peaceful Turkish-Armenian relations. Great effort was displayed by the instigators whom the Western powers planted into the Ottoman Empire under clerical guise, to create a schism between Turks and Armenians in the religious, cultural, commercial, political and social fields. Thus, bloody clashes arose, in which the blunt of pain was borne by the Turks, and thousands of Armenians and Turks lost their lives in the revolts that broke out in Eastern Anatolia and spread all the way to Istanbul. Though there were many Armenians fighting in the Ottoman armies against the enemy or serving in the rear ranks during the World War I, a considerable number had sided with the foes on the battlefronts and launched massacres against the population without distinction of women, children and the aged. Their toll was hundreds of thousands of Moslems and ruin in Eastern Anatolia. The measures adopted by the Ottoman Empire to stop this violence were presented to the rest of the world under a completely different light and the Armenians, misguided by the promises and instigation of the Western Powers started to undermine the country where they had led a privileged life more than a thousand years. The Hinchak, Tashnak, Toward Armenia, Young Armenians, Union and Salvation, Ramgavar, Paramilitaries, Black Cross societies and Hinchak Revolutionary Committee, which were established out of Anatolia, formed organisations urging the people for an armed revolt. These activities were the bloody uprisings that cost thousands of Turkish and Armenian lives. During World War I, the Ottoman Empire was fighting against Russian armies in Eastern Anatolia, where the Armenian revolt was at its peak; and also against Armenian forces which supported the Russians. On the other hand, behind the lines it had to continue to fight against Armenian guerrillas that were burning Turkish villages and towns and attacking military convoys and reinforcements. In spite of this violence, the Ottoman Empire tried to solve the Armenian problem for months by taking local measures. Meanwhile, an operation was made against the Armenian guerillas and 2345 rebels were arrested for high treason. When it became evident that the Armenian community was also in rebellion against the state, the Ottoman Empire proceeded with the last resort of replacing only those Armenians in the region who actively participated in the rebellion. With this measure, the Ottoman Empire also intended to save the lives of the Armenians who were living in a medium of civil war because Turks started to counter-attack the Armenians who had performed bloody atrocities against Turkish communities. Today, Armenia and some states using Armenians for their economic and political benefits have launched a massive propaganda campaign to present the replacement decision and the 24 April arrests as genocide to the world public opinion. At the end of the World War I, when the armies of Allied States occupied The Ottoman Empire and the British officials among them arrested 143 Ottoman political and military leaders and intellectuals for “having committed war crimes toward Armenians” and exiled them to Malta where a trial was launched. However, the massive scrutiny made on the Ottoman, British, American archives in order to find evidence to incriminate these 143 persons failed to produce even the least iota of proof against them. In the end, the detainees in Malta were released without trial and even any indictment in 1922. The United States archives contain an interesting document sent to Lord Curzon on 13 July 1921 by Mr. R.C. Craigie, the British Ambassador in Washington. The message was as follows: “I regret to state that there is nothing that may be used as evidence against the Turkish detainees in Malta. There are no events that may constitute adequate proofs. The said reports do not appear to contain even circumstantial evidence that could be useful to reinforce the information held by His Majesty’s Government against the Turks.” On 29 July 1921, the legal advisers in London decided that the intended indictments drawn up against the persons on the British Foreign Ministry’s list were semi-political in nature and therefore these individuals should be treated separately from the Turks detained as criminals of war. They also stated the following: “No statements were hitherto received from the witnesses to the effect that the indictments intended against the detainees are correct. Likewise it does not need to be restated that finding witnesses after so long a time is highly doubtful in a remote country like Armenia which is accessible only with great difficulties.” This statement was made also by none other than the legal advisers in London of His Majesty’s Government. Yet, the efforts to smear the image of Turks with genocide claims did not come to an end as the British press published certain documents attempting to prove the existence of a massacre claimed to have been perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire while efforts were being made to start a lawsuit in Malta. It was stated that the documents were found by the British occupation forces in Syria, led by General Allenby. The inquiries subsequently made by the British Foreign Office revealed, however, that these documents were fakes prepared by the Armenian Nationalist Delegation in Paris and distributed to the Allied representatives. The Armenian Diaspora, who left no stone unturned to keep the genocide claims on the agenda despite all these facts, resorted to terrorism in the end. The so-called Armenian issue, which started to attract the attention of the world and Turkish public opinion through the smearing campaign launched by the Armenians against Turkey after 1965, in the ‘70s turned into terrorist attacks directed against the Turkish representations abroad. In Santa Barbara on January 27, 1973, the first individual terrorist attack was launched by an aged Armenian named Gurgen (Karekin) Yanikian. He murdered Mehmet Baydur and Bahadir Demir, the Turkish Consul General and Vice Consul in Los Angeles, and these murders turned into an organised campaign after 1975. The attacks against Turkish embassies, officials and institutions abroad gradually intensified. A major increase in the attacks was noted after 1979 when an internal unease started in Turkey. The Armenian terrorists staged a total of 110 attacks at 38 cities of 21 countries. 39 of these acts were committed by small arms, 70 of them were realised by bombs and one was an outright occupation. 42 Turkish diplomats and 4 foreigners were killed and 15 Turks and 66 foreigners were wounded in these incidents. As these actions received a strong reaction from the world public opinion, the Armenian terrorist organisations changed their tactics in 1980 and began to co-operate with the PKK terrorist group which was pushed into the scene by the Eruh and ªemdinli attacks as the ASALA and Armenian operations were stopped. The documents and evidence from Beqaa and Zeli camps show that the PKK and ASALA militants were trained there together. The success achieved by the Turkish security forces made the Armenian terrorism pursue the so called genocide claims through the Armenian Diaspora and attempt to make the world believe in the existence of such an event by inducing several parliaments to adopt resolutions and laws which recognise it. The goal of these terrorists is to plant into minds of people the existence of a genocide, to force Turkey to recognise it, to receive indemnity from Turkey and, finally, to snatch from Turkey the land needed for realising the dream of Great Armenia

very strange dream. can anyone interpret this? the dream started out very nicely. i was on a very sunny hillside that was covered in tree roots that i was climbing on. old victorian-style houses sat here and there. it was warm and autumn. i felt very peaceful and happy as i climbed around the roots. zack effron (lol i know wtf?) was at the bottom of the steep hill singing about puritains. im not quite sure if the dream abruptly took a scary turn there, or not. i remember it got very dark. i went into the biggest (i acctually think it became the only) house in on top of the hill, knowing the puritains lived in there (or used to.) an announcer from the discovery channel suddenly started talking - like he was doing a very dramatic commercial for a sinister show as i walked around the house, people appeared - dressed like puritains. as the man talked, a flash of light would go off and whomever i was looking at would turn into a skeleton - with the organs and such still visible. some of the people had twisted expressions like they were screaming silently in horror. on particularly disturbed me - a woman held a baby, but in a flash of light it showed her as a skeleton holding the torso skeleton of a man - and his limbs had been removed. for some reason, i knew that this was supposed to be representative of mary holding jesus. by this point, im completely scared out of my mind. i somehow end up outside the house. i know that i have to leave, i wanted to go see my dad i think. the hill had changed. it was no longer covered in roots, but had a winding stone staircase that led down the steep hill. it was very dark. i saw a big black man running at the bottom of the hill. i knew i had to be quiet, or he would find me and rape me. i slid quietly down the stone steps and was just about in my car. i turned and saw the man running straight for me, on the path behind me. i gasped, and he let out a low chuckle, having heard me. he oustreatched his arms, and i screamed absolutely petrified. he ran right into me, i was engulfed in black for a short moment, and then i woke up scared out of my mind. we had been studying "The Crucible" in school, which explains all of the puritain stuff, but as for everything else, i have no clue. can someone help me out?
(I am 13) How is My book? PART 3? After countless hours of climbing she finally reached the bottom. She sighed with relief. Even though she was in pitch darkness, she was able to stop climbing. She dropped down to the floor. She slumped down from exhaustion. She lay there not moving. She didn’t even swat the mosquito that landed on her cheek. She lay there until she finally fell asleep. After about an hour she woke up in pain. Her hands had stopped bleeding but they still throbbed in pain. She stood up and brushed the dirt off of her hands on her pants she breathed deeply. She stood there thinking of what to do next. She eventually decided to light a match. She lit the match. The whole room filled with bright light. She could see everything. There was a huge living room with an enormous chair in front of a flat screen T.V. There also was a small kitchen next to that room that had a steaming pie. And next to the kitchen there was a door that led to a bedroom, which also lead to a bathroom. She slowly walked toward the bedroom. She could see nothing but a humungous mound of blankets on a bed. She walked next to it, shook it a bit and said: “Hello?” she shook it harder.” Is anyone in here?” The mound of blankets began to move. Alex stared at the large mound of blankets move until finally it flew of the bed and out popped a young man with a stubby little beard. He had short black hair and green eyes. He was quite fit too. He quickly walked over the mound then picked it up and threw it back onto the bed. He looked up at Alex. His green eyes reflected her pale face. He stood there for a while. But he finally turned up to her and said: “Who the heck are you?” Alex said nothing but finally brought up her courage. “My name is Alex” said Alex. Her hands had stopped hurting long enough to stick out and shake the man’s hand. “Hmm Alex, a wonderful name.” he said clasping his hands together. Then he turned to the bed and started to make it. He only stopped and turned around to say: “It means: Protector of mankind” Alex stared. The man did not seem surprised at all that a twenty year old woman was in his underground home. “Aren’t you going to ask why I am here?” asked Alex. “I mean this is your home” Alex clinched her hands waiting for an answer. She waited for him, but he did not speak until he finished tucking in the fourteenth comforter. “Aye, many people have fallen deep into my hole of a home.” He said “I try to convince them to stay with me but they always want to go back home.” He sighed then turned back to the bed tucking the fifteenth comforter. Alex stood there. She had nothing to do but watch the man make his bed. After about an hour the man finished tucking in the hundredth blanket which was a dark shade of blue. Alex gazed at the tower of blankets. They stacked all the way up to the ceiling. Alex stared at the man. He stood there looking at her looking at him. Alex could see he was getting uncomfortable, because he quickly turned around and walked into the kitchen. After a couple seconds Alex could here him open the refrigerator. “You want some salad?” he shouted to Alex. Alex hesitated. Should she trust him? But then she realized how hungry she was. So she shouted: “Yes, Yes please.” Then she walked into the living room. “You mind if I watch some T.V?” asked Alex. She needed to clear her mind from all of her frightening experiences the night before. She sat onto the enormous chair. She sunk deeply into it. “Sure, why not.” The man said. “But there is only one channel, it’s the news.” He grabbed a bowl and started to put the chopped tomatoes, celery, cucumber, and lettuce into it. “I hate the news. That’s why I really only watch my DVD’s.” He pointed to a huge bookcase filled with DVD’s. “Oh, thanks.” Said Alex who was trying to find the remote witch had sunk into the chair while she had been talking. Finally finding it she switched on the T.V. The news instantly popped up. When a commercial came, the man came over to her and handed her a large bowl of salad. “Thanks.” Alex said digging in. “bye the way, you never told me your name.” “It is Peter,” Peter said. He then left to the bedroom and shouted: “I am going to take a shower.” He closed the door. The commercial break was over. The news reporter said: “We have received information that there is a missing girl” Alex’s photo popped up on the screen. “Her name is Alex; we would like anyone that has seen this girl to notify the police. Thank you” Alex turned off the T.V in shock. She sat there motionless until Peter came walking in. He stared at him very long. His green eyes did not blink even once. But he finally walked over to her and stuck out his hand for his salad bowl. “What’s wrong?” he asked. But Alex did not answer. She sat there still motionless but finally said: “the salad was very good.” She handed him the bowl. He took it into the kitchen. The day passed as Alex sat on the chair. Peter desperately tried to get her attention but fi (Last sentence) finally gave up and watched some action movie (Part 4 last part ) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100205134102AAtOPvI
