Led lighting,indoor gardening question? my question is about, led lights as a light source for growing plants indoors. I have seen products called UFO led lights, they use way less energy are burning at a cooler tempature and have a full spectrum of red and blue light. Has anyone used these? And what did you think of the quality of these led lights? They do seem a bit expensive, if you have used em do you think do you think they are worth the price? And is there any brand or make that is better, the best ones you can recomend? any additional info I should consider, if I decide to purchase or use these led lights for my indoor garden.. How does LED lights changes its color? I have seen a LED light used as garden light. It has solar panels that charges the batteries at daytime and the batteries power the LED lights at night. It makes me curious because it has only one LED light but it can produces different colors. Its color changes from time to time. How did this happen?

I put it inside a 4x4x6 room with aluminum foil covering all the walls, the floor & the ceiling to reflect as much of the light as possible. Putting 4 plants inside. Has anyone ever used this LED setup before? If so, what were your results? Should I invest in a bigger one or just stick to HPS & Metal Halide lighting? Thanks
Where can I buy different coloured LED downlights? I have a load of down lights fitted throughout my home and no doubt they are costing me a fortune to have on. i know there is an equivalent LED light that saves alot of money but I can only find them in white - does ayone know where i can buy these lights in different colours? I have different coloured LED lights in my garden but the connection is different. Its just an idea to make one or more areas a bit more 'ambient' :)
Sarah Peyton Step Garden led fountain help? For mother's day I bought a little Sarah Peyton Step Garden LED fountain. Well, I decided to give it to her early. It would appear that we need some trouble shooting. After adding the batteries, water and rocks all we get is the light. No trickle trickle of soothing water! Nothing in the instructions explains this or troubleshoots this.
LED lighting for my 240 gallon fish tank. Help please.? I bought the Chauvet color splash jr's. They are capable of 256 color changes and can be controlled via dmx. My question is can they be set to emulate grow lights? In other words can they be used to feed my aquatic plants and facilitate the growth of algae? I have read about using led lighting in your indoor herb garden and was curious if anyone knew if my lights would do the same thing. These lights are wonderful and since I am now disabled and not performing musically as much, I would like to find a useful place for them. Do 220V LED fairy lights work in Australia? I want to buy 10 packs of 100 bulb led light strands to put in the garden for an upcoming party, bulk from china is the cheapest way, but the rated voltage is 220V on the box ... Will this work on australias 240V supply? Will it burn out the LED's or will it set fire to my garden?
How do I power 5 sets of led lights? I have a garden parasol that didnt come with a power connector. I bought an LED controller from screwfix. This driver has a 16w output. The 5xsets of 18 LEDS (tube type) are very dim. Is there anyway to uprate the power supply to create brighter lights?
info on LED lights for growing vegetables? So I just moved to an apartment for the first time in my life. I don't have a garden, and it's driving me crazy! I want to start an indoor garden using LED lights (preferably home built, I'm handy with a soldering iron) but just about everything I can find has to do with marijuana! What are some good resources for LED grow light information that have to do with vegetables? I want to grow some greens (spinach, mostly) but mostly things like tomatoes and peppers and beans. I keep finding stuff about how to make really nice 'buds' but not a lot about how to make really nice fruit. The sheer volume of info re: illicit gardening keeps screwing up my googling! but as I understand it (from pot grow logs!) there are different wavelengths that are best for different stages of plant growth - vegetative growth vs. flowering, for instance. I think I've found enough info for leafy greens like the spinach, but I'm wondering where I can find info on what wavelengths are best for post-flowering, when the plant is pushing energy out to it's fruit.
How do solar garden lights work? I took one apart and it looks like its just a solar array, connected to a resistor, conected to a battery, connected to the LED. But. . . .how do they connect together? B/C of the small circuit board, and messy soldering job, I can't tell whats connected to what. Here's what I think is going on - the positive (red) from the solar connects to the resistor, then to the battery. The negative just connects straight from the solar to the battery. Then both from the battery to the LED. Is that pretty much it?
Will an LED light up a water flow.? I know that if you create a laminar flow water system then an LED will light up the water, but what about a regular water flow system. Simplistically, if you put an LED in a garden hose will the water come out with the color of the LED.
Can i put LED lights under plastic vases? ? I'm planning my wedding and I found this beautiful idea of what they call "gel beads" n they put them in vases and put an LED floral base light under it and the beads glow,I would use glass vases but I'm getting married in a garden and they don't allow glass, would the light melt plastic? How can I power LED light strings with a solar panel? I'm interested in purchasing some LED icicle-style light strings to go around the house and was thinking it would be nice if they were solar powered to cut back even more on energy consumption. I've seen icicle-style LED strings with a regular a/c plug and single-strand LED lights attached to a small solar panel on a garden stake but no solar powered icicle-style LED strings. Is there an easy way to get both the solar power feature AND the style LEDs I want? The icicle-style LED strings draw about 5w each and I'm not sure how many I'll need, probably 4-6 strings. Thanks!

How do I attach an LED bulb to a solar panel, battery and a switch? This seems simple enough but nobody knows how to do it. I need to make a lighting system for a boat. I want it to be solar powered. All I need is a way to get a solar panel attached to a battery for storage and then a switch so I can turn it on at night. The boat is wired for battery power and I have yet to find a simple lighting system that I can just make my own light fixture for. What kind of led lights are used in led grow lights? I was looking to start an in home garden since many plants cannot grow in the area I live in. I was looking online and everyone was raving about led grow lights but the kit is like in the thousands for what I want to grow. Before I just to such an investment I wanted to see if they really worked. I was looking to see if I could find what type of LED lights are used in the LED Grow lights but it doesn't state on any site what they use. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of LED (such as 5mm 3mm, LUMINOUS INTENSITY, VIEWING ANGLE, (ÿD) WAVE LENGTH, or even if lens color matters, of if clear will do it) I should use. To be honest I don't even know how to wire all this but I will learn. I will not go broke just trying to feed my family, I have to do something and this is a way out for us. If anyone has any clue what I should use, please let me know or at least guide me in the right direction. Thank you!
can I power my rubbish solar led's in the garden using a car battery? The solar panel is useless, and a lot of the garden s usually in shade anyway, so is there a way to power the lights using a motorcycle/car battery or will it be too powerful? I did attach the battery briefly to the lights, but they seemed to burn REAL bright, and I could tell the cable was getting too hot, so I disconnected it right away! I've checked on the lights themselves, there's no info whatsoever about wattage/voltage...
Solar Bug Zappers , are they really worth it? I have a great garden item that I make but can't sell? I hand pour concrete stepping stones with fiber optics embedded in them powered by LED lights. They look incredible and are perfect for lighting a walkway. I'm only asking about 20$ a stone plus about 10$ S&H so its a really great product for pretty cheap. I have a website and an ebay page but I'm afraid no one does searches for "fiber optic stepping stones" so they never really get past all the old boring stepping stones to see mine. When people actually see them they love them and buy them but how can I get the idea out there more so that people even know about them?
How to make batteries swop from one to another when they die? Its quite differcult to explain but some one who knows about Electrics may be able to help. I garden light which lasts half the night then dies. It takes 1 x AA 1.5V BATTERY. What i would like to do is attach another battery to it,so when the first battery dies it will move on to the other battery.What component do i need to make this work? I do not want to buy a different light,please only answer the question if you know about elecrics. I do not want to buy any other lights. How could i estimate the area of a photovoltaic panel for solar powered garden light? known info: At night the LED is illuminated, drawing a current of 25 mA battery supplies 1.2v runs for 12 hours at night. take standard air mass to be AM 1.5 1000 W m^2 No information on panel size, rough estimate: 5 hours good sunlight per day Would i need to calculate the daily energy requirement of the LED first? I've calculated the power level to drive the LED is 25 mA x 1.2v = 30 mW so 30mW x 12hours = 360 mWh = 0.36e-3 Wh behond this I'm not sure!!! solar panels power output in a day = efficiency (w/m^2) x area (m^2) x duration of sunlight (s) ws ???
90 watt LED of HID grow lights? Due to the bad weather in my area I find it very challenging to grow outside, but I love to garden. I was just doing some research and I stumbled upon two light choices that I would be interested in. A 90 watt UFO grow light or a 400 watt HPS/MH bulb system.
