Steps to replace my home lights with LED based lights? Hi, I have mostly low lifespan GE 100w lights as well as Halogen lights that I would like to replace with LED lights. I would prefer direct replacements without changing fixtures. Thank you. :-) /CivilLizard Jason: I'm no in the US, was assuming an answer would include means of identifying the proper replacement for the Halogen lights I have as I'm assuming there's a difference in size and the size, voltage and cycles? :-) Oh well..
Why can't we find some cheap LED lights in stores worldwide? LEDs are cheap to make, save electricity (over 10 nuclear power stations could be shutdown if we all used LEDs) and last years longer than the alternative. Why are they so rare? Does the industry (GE, Philips; etc) prevent their introduction to preserve their margins on the supposedly "light-saving" fluorescent bulbs?

what's the best quality outdoor xmas lights I can buy? I am tired of every other year having to buy new outdoor lights for xmas its getting expensive. Last time (xmas '09) I thought I had it when I bought all new GE LED icicle lights for the house. I always take secial care (never staple, always use plastic clips, always stored in original boxes in climate controlled dry storage through the year. Pulled them out this year and only 3 out of the 20-30 strands actually work :-/. What lights do you run and what are your impressions? Durability and longevity? Thanks
GE top load washer will not spin - seems to want to start but immediately jams? GE model WBSR3140DAWW When it comes time to spin it just sits there and makes a noise like it wants to, but stays still. It fills, agitates and drains fine. Belt is fine. Tried the reset technique - but have no idea where the LED light is to see what its status is. Checked for obstructions or clogs in the hoses even though it drains fine. When I try to force it into the spin mode by opening and shutting the lid the motor moves but then locks up before it can get started. I'm at a loss for what to try next and would greatly appreciate some suggestions. Thanks in advance, Damian
GE-WASHER WON'T SPIN...MODEL # "WLSE4000G0WW" I REPLACED THE MOTOR/ RESISTOR AND THE BOARD still won't spin? As in description I replaced the motor/ resistor and later replaced the electrical board and the problem still is it won't spin... According to the LED light on the motor everything is NORMAL STANDBY... Any help or suggestions please let me know thanks Brion No it's not the belt trust me it's a B*@#H to put on and take off Thanks, brion not the door switch but I figured out how to reset the washer by unpluging the washer wait 1 minute open and close lid 4 to 5 times plug back in and it's reset... This made the bucket spin but now it won't agitate!!! ;( ;( ;( and according to the LED light on motor the display is advising LOCKED ROTOR- MAKE SURE SYSTEM IS FREE***

Windows 7 won't boot anymore! Please help!? Okay here's the situation... I just built my first computer with an i7 2600k, gigabyte motherboard, 16 gb of vengeance ram, evga ge force 550 ti gpu, intel ssd 128 gb hd, blue ray drive, and 1 tb WD HDD Okay so I got it all put together fine and I spent a pretty penny on this. Needless to say I wanted to save money so I got my brother to upload an image of Windows 7 and burnt it to a DVD as a .iso file. I installed it by going into bios and assigning my blue ray drive as #1 boot priority and it worked great! I partitioned my ssd and let the installation take it's course. After Windows installed i did all of the usual drivers like chipset, lan, usb, audio and video card. Then i got a nice anti virus and installed allllll of the windows 7 updates. Then I started getting onto the usual drivers from the internet like itunes, adobe, and other things that you need to do typical web surfing stuff like youtube, groovesharl etc. I spent all night on the computer surfing the web, watching awesome graphics, and listening to music. Everything was amazing and I couldn't believe how awesome my computer was! Whats the problem you ask??? I went to bed last night after shutting the computer down and when i woke up to start it Windows will no longer boot!! I've tried the quick system repair like 5 times. I tried inserting my Windows disk and tred to do the self repair but it won't let me. I cant get into windows because everytime I start it up it gets to the little windows icon and then all of a sudden goes to a BLACK SCREEN. Then my monitor's power led light turns orange as if it isn't going to recognize anything else. Please I need help desperatley! Is my computer absolutley screwed? I've rebooted a bunch of times already and I don't know what else to do. Anyone else have this problem. Seriously if your advice solves the problem I will remember you forever!! How to know what a PC problem is? I just recently built a new PC but it doesn't turn on. My case, NZXT M59 power button is working along with its RESET and LEDs. I tested the front panel on my current PC and the computer turned on. My PSU works because I used the paper clip trick and all the fans, cd-rom, and HDD turn on. There is no OS, video card, and CPU installed but RAM is installed. 8GB G. Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1333. The motherboard, Asus P8P67, standby LED is on, and the TPU and EPU LEDs work as well when the switch is on, but the system itself won't turn on. No fans, LEDs, CD-Rom, HDD, etc. I know I can't post or anything, but I should at least have a series of beeps letting me know the board is missing something and all the fans should spin and LED's light up, but I don't get anything. I disassembled everything and rebuilt the PC but still have the same issue. This is the first time I seen this. I don't know if it's the motherboard itself. All I need is my video card and CPU to finish the PC, but need to figure out this issue first. Does anyone know what the problem is? My build: NZXT M59 Case Asus P8P67 (B3 Revision) Lite-On DVD Burner 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws Series DDR3 1333 Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA 6.0 (In the future) Ge-force GTX460 SLI Intel Core i5-2400 I don't have the CPU, video card, or OS installed, but that shouldn't stop the system from starting up. The motherboard itself should at least power on, along with everything else in the system and I should hear all the bios beeps indicating what I'm missing. Instead the standby LED is on.
Need help with connecting outdoor light timer! Please help!? First of all, I am not that strong with electrical work, but I thought I would give replacing my outdoor light timer a try. It is a dual switch with one switch controlling the outdoor lights (hooked up to the timer) and the other switch that controls our front hall light. Here is what I had before: Intermatic timer with 3 wires coming out of the back (black, blue & red). The black wire was connected to another black wire. The blue wire was connected to a second black wire. The red wire was not connected to anything (was this the grounded wire?). With the new GE timer, it actually had FOUR wires coming out the back (black, red, white & green). I connected the black wire to the same black wire that the Intermatic timer was hooked up to. I connected the red wire to the second black wire. The white wire in the instructions was labeled as "neutral" and the diagram led me to believe that it should be connected with the red wire to the second black wire. The green wire was the grounded wire, so I didn't connect it to anything. The old intermatic timer wasn't working anymore as the outdoor lights would not even get turned off manually. When I connected the GE timer, the outdoor lights were on when I connected it, but I could not turn them off manually. I realize I am an amateur, but would love someone's help! THANKS!!!
My microwave was flickering yesterday but it still worked for me !? I unplugged it and took the cover off of it and re-plugged it in and now it does nothing. The surge protection fuse is still good. all the door interlock switches are good, but the front LED push button panel is out and now the whole thing does nothing. Even the inside light quit working. Its a GE sensor probe digital Residential counter style Microwave. I cant find the Wattage but it is a Model 1460 whatever that is. Is it fixable ? I see that it is possible that the circuit board in the front cover has a lot to do with the operation. Where is a schematic of that board. I have the whole micro wave schematic but it doesn't include the board just that it goes in and comes out. I am at hooyaaxx@msn.com if you can help. thanks

How do I know if I'm verbally abusive? I recently met a girl online. She told me that some people called her verbally abusive and a s****. I told her she doesn't seem verbally abusive, and that guys should not use the s word. I had asked her if she thought I was verbally abusive to her, because I was worried that she may be bringing up this subject because I reminded her of it, but she told me that I am not verbally abusive, or that she thinks I am not. Today we had an argument. During the argument she told me that she would kick my ass seriously, and she started cursing like saying damn it. She got angry because earlier she had accused me of being too quiet. That I do not respond. I am in truth very quiet. People usually think that it's because I do not like them. I simply am quiet in nature and do not know how to open up to people. I explained this to her. She was upset because I did not respond on a video-chat but I have no idea what I was not responding to to begin with. I answered all questions honestly, and fairly. In any event, sorry about my lecture readers, The conversation went further south. I tried talking to her again, asking her a couple of questions to get to know her better, and we shared opinions that differed a bit back and forth on life and role models, etc. Eventually I had started talking about how I work in Customer Service and it's hard being an introvert in the customer service position. To this she said I have to go to bed, goodnight. Now, I thought I was beginning to open up to her, you know, to respond like she wanted me to. But then she said she had to go to bed. And then after saying that, right after I was telling her how it's tough being an introvert in a cust service position, she asks if I still want to go out on friday horse-back riding because she made reservacations for friday. But earlier, talking to her, she made it sound like it was some other friends she had plans with to do this with, but they canceled on her. I asked her about this but she played it off. I said I couldn't really hear her, and asked her to repeat what she said, but she didn't and changed the subject. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if the whole time she was using this as a metaphore to humiliate me. In any event, she told me that she didn't need to be lectured and she'd kick my ass (because I told her that I felt like to be honest, she didn't want to talk to me when I was opening up, so why would I want to spend time with her on Friday?) and then she signed off and said I'll talk to you when you're nice? Because she said I was not being nice, and because my Dad in an argument accused me of being angry at him (some one hit and ran and destroyed my tail light. My dad wanted me to go through insurance and file a claim and I read onlnie this could raise insurance if you decide to swithc. My mother told me from her experience that statement is false. I said I did not understand why he wanted me to go through insurance and asked him to explain why it would be better. He accused me of coming upstairs with an attitude? And he proceeded to wave his arms in the air and hold his head mocking me when I said I didn't understand. Then my mother goes, "(Name)" why are you doing that?" And I'm upset that he's doing this so I said to him Why are you waving your arms around what's that for? and because I yelled this, he goes to my mom and says, "see, he just blows up" These two instances of conversation has led me to contemplate if I am infact verbally abusive. For most of the answers it was Mostly False of Completely False. Looking at the questions I can't tell if it's a test to set you up to get a bad score. If you answer True on all of them you end up getting a 0, but looking at the questions how could that be? Does this SHORT story sound okay? Okay so I was wondering if my story is okay and if I should maybe add anything? I opened my eyes, grass; that’s all I could see. It’s dark, no fresh breeze, no noises, nothing. Where am I? Better yet who am I? I decided to look around but all I could see was grass, at least five feet. But then I could see two lights flashing at me. “Quick over here, I found someone.” My eyes began to shut and then the voices slowly started to fade. Suddenly fresh air went into my lungs, I opened my eyes and seen three people with gas masks on. “Eli, come quick he’s awake”! One of the three took off there gas mask. “What the hell are you doing here on earth, don’t you know its dangerous here!” He then helped me up and muttered “Get in the jeep.” It was a long drive; no one said anything, just miles of a bland green ocean and a dark sky. But what did he mean its dangerous here on earth? How did I even get here in the first place? Where are we going? There will be time for questions later but for now- “Get up, were here” murmured Eli. I jumped down from the jeep, no buildings; nothing. I then yelled where is “HERE” exactly? He laughed and took out what looked like a remote and clicked the red button on it. I heard a big cracking noise, I turned around and there was a huge hole in the ground. “Jump in”, simply said Eli. The hole wasn’t too deep, about six feet. The first thing I noticed was two counters on both sides of me and two chairs with wheels. The room was narrow with a variety of diagrams all over. I decided to sit down and gaze upon the diagrams. “Here, eat this”. Eli slid a bowl across the counter. “What year is this”, I asked. “3000” said Eli with food in his mouth. “Then; where is the rest of the human race?” “We are the human race.” Eli told me that pollution was the main cause back in 2330. In 2350 the ozone layer was completely destroyed that led to no more air and no more research/technology. “Then how are we living right now?” “Underground; we discovered carbon dioxide goes down here and becomes oxygen”, explained Eli. “Who are you guys?” “We are exploration team; we search for any possible survivors. “Name?” questioned Eli. “I don’t even know what my face looks like never mind my name.” “Sleep on it, maybe you will remember tomorrow”. I walked down a long corridor with 5 rooms on each side and finally found a room with a small mattress on the floor. I opened my eyes it was a bright room. There was a young woman with short brunette hair holding a baby on a bed. The door to the right of the bed opened a doctor came in and asked her “did you name him”? “Yes Mark Johnson.” “Hey kid, get up!” Eli hollered. My names Mark I said. He smiled and told me to meet him in the lab. I figured that he was going to ask me questions or something instead; I went into the room and on the granite tops I scene an array of what looked like to be guns. “These guns mark, where the only thing that evolved over the years because of war. I remember looking at the guns; they all looked the same except one thing. The gun you choose reacts differently depending on your personality. I was drawn to the gun in the middle; though they all looked the same some were heavier then others. “Well; let’s go!” demanded Eli. “We found life readings near the grand canyons; we believe it’s human.” We all got into the jeep with high hopes, me, Eli, Alice and George who rarely talk. I was still getting se to the idea of no human race and the fact that I am some where around 20 a thousand years away from my time. Also *Halt*. The engines of the jeep stopped. “Damn well we will just have to get the rest of the way on foot.” The scenery gradually changed; grass to rocks then rocks to cliffs. The Grand canyons looked completely destroyed, a baron wasteland. The canyons were in a form of a circle; creating a valley in the center. The only thing that came to my mind was I wonder what adventures I will get into. PLEASE READ!
