How much light do you get from led candles? Hey, I'm looking to purchase some led candles from amazon as they seem to be on offer at the moment. Does anybody know how bright they actually get? Will one pack be enough to light up the room? Also this is probably a stupid question but does any kind of smell come from them?? I was looking at the Philips Imageo Led Rechargeable Candle Lights. How to tun on my Philips Plasma TV with red light? My Philips tv won't turn on. The led light turns red instead of green and flashes 7 times. It says I can you a hard reset if I unplug for 60 seconds but it does nothing different when I turn it on and goes back to red. I even tried holding the power button and then I tried unplugging it for long amounts of time but nothing happens. What should I do, best buy is confused and I don't understand how to connect it to the computer. Is there anything I can do to the tv? thanks
Why can't we find some cheap LED lights in stores worldwide? LEDs are cheap to make, save electricity (over 10 nuclear power stations could be shutdown if we all used LEDs) and last years longer than the alternative. Why are they so rare? Does the industry (GE, Philips; etc) prevent their introduction to preserve their margins on the supposedly "light-saving" fluorescent bulbs?
Broken philips 32 in plasma? 200 philips 32in plasma, the LED light at the bottom of the tv blinks red 6 times fast then 3 times slow, then repeats, but the tv wont turn on. model number is 32HFL5860D/27 have any idea's on whats wrong? oops haha not 200, meant to put 2008 the year
Would you replace traditional recessed flood bulbs with LED bulbs? I've recently purchased a home and it has a very nice finished basement, complete with recessed lighting. It actually has 13 recessed lights that currently have 65w indoor flood lights in them. I want to replace them because the amount of heat they generate is stupid - my friend and I were just sitting watching TV one day with these lights on it was literally about 15 degrees hotter than outside. So I've purchased a few CFL, eco-friendly lights just to put them in to test which ones I like/don't like before I replace them all. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Philips Ambient LED Indoor Flood that I purchased for a test. The problem is that they're roughly $35 a bulb and total replacement would be around $420 just for lights!! So my question is - is it actually worth it to replace these bulbs with these expensive lights? As we get our basement setup, I believe we'll spend most of the time down there and I don't want to be cooking under hot lights. I do like these LED's, but the price is killing me.
Philips 42PFL3704D/F7 LCD TV clicks but won't turn on. Help!? Brought a 42" Philips Flat panel tv. Made in Dec 09. When I hit the power button, it clicks, the white LED light stays on for 8 seconds, then clicks off. The screen itself never comes on at all (not even the "Philips" startup screen) and there is no sound from the speakers. I removed the back and I don't see any bad capacitors. The fuse appears to be good as well. I do hear a VERY slight buzzing noise coming from the power invertor board but I don't know if that is a problem or not. Can someone help? I have a soldering gun but I don't which part needs to be replaced....
42 inch philips plasma tv? My tv was on one minute playing a cartoon and then it all of a sudden went off and will not come back on...i have unplugged it for more than a minute and it came on for a minute but could not see anything and my led light is flashing seven times red...does anyone know anything about it and is it worth fixing? it is a 42PF9630A/37.
Philips LCD monitor 150p4 problem - steady green power light but no display? I have a Philips 150P4 LCD monitor that someone gave to me as faulty. The power light is steady green, but no display unless I press the power button on the monitor off and then on again, but even then, not every time I do this will the display come on, it depends on the mood of the LCD monitor. Sometimes this trick works, sometimes it doesn't. Anyway, please read on to understand more about this monitor... Earlier on, upon opening up the monitor to check the circuit boards inside, I noticed that there were no swollen capacitors at all, neither were there any blown fuse or blown resistors. Everything looked OK. I don't have a multimeter, neither am I competent enough to know hoe to use one, but I do know how to look for swollen caps and replace them, and I have done so successfully in the past with motherboards. Anyway, enough background information about me. While performing a physical inspection of the monitor, I discovered the following problem: One of the pins in the VGA cable(the end which is supposed to go to the PC) was very badly bent. I assume the previous owner never realised this all this while and this was probably why the monitor became faulty. Anyway, I replaced it with a brand new VGA cable but the problem is still the same - the power light is steady green, but no display unless I press the power button off and then on again, but even then, this trick dos not work every time. I noticed something else interesting - if the display was working, it would go off if there was a signal change, so to speak. For example, if I boot up Linux Mint, there would not be a display until all the BIOS startup and what-nots and all the boot-up information page 'switching' was done and the OS has finally settled down, THEN only will the 'switch-off-switch-on' trick work. If I tried the trick earlier during the boot-up process, most of the time the display would not come on. Also, sometimes for no apparent reason, the 'Lightframe' function blue button LED would momentarily light up for a second(when there is no display). Now, in conclusion, here is my suspicion of what I think is wrong and I would like someone here to give me your second opinion. I suspect that the many years of using the LCD monitor by the previous owner with a damaged VGA cable with a badly bent pin has somehow shorted or caused irreversible damage to the LCD's display board. I suspect the problem is a faulty display board, since the power board looks fine to me, plus the power light is always steady green, meaning the power supply board should be OK. I suspect the problem is a faulty display board(even though there are no swollen caps or burnt components on it), rather than the power board. What do you think? Just to add on, I have already tested this faulty Philips LCD monitor with a few different computers(with different graphics cards, obviously), all the same problem.
I'm having Problems with my Philips 60PP9202 60 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready, can anyone help me please? I'm aving problems with Philips 60PP9202 60 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready, when i try to turn it on all i get is a red "led" light that come's on. I have no sound and or picture. I have searched through other peoples problems and question's/ answers, and no luck, i thought that i would try here instead as a last resort before i have to spend alot of money on a tv repair man. Philips TV won't turn on. Help!? I got this TV today for Christmas, and it absolutely will not turn on. I've unplugged, left it out and replugged. I've tried different outlets in different areas. I've held the power button. The red LED light on the front won't even come on when I plug it in. I did notice when I've moved it there is a tiny rattling. Like something small broke and is now loose. Philips HDTV question, any experts out there? I bought a philips 40" LCD 240hz 5000 series around black Friday an I absolutely loved it, but my friend ruined it on accident. So I had to take it back, an just recently it was put back up on walmart.com so I reorderd. Now my first set was definitely an LCD. Th picture was bright no dark areas or weird lighting effects. Now this tv has very deep dark areas no matter if I'm watching a movie watching sports or playing a video games, an there is also a bleeding issue on my left upper corner an the whole right side. Now with me original set I could turn off active control lighting too get a not dark picture but with this tv even if I turn that feature off it's still extremely dark where it's not suppose to be THAT dark. My first tv had no issues like this what so ever. My new one it's like I can see the light changing and jumping around as it hits surfaces or the camera pans in a show or more it's really distracting and an eye sore. I called philips an they are trying to tell me it's led edge lit!! How is this possible it's an LCD tv! No where on the boxes or reviews does it say LED and my first set was definitely not LEDedge lit. Everywhere on my tv says LCD I even looked down in the back threw the heat vents an can see all the lights are actually in the middle not on the edge. Can someone tell me why these two sets are so different? They also said there is only one version of this tv so either my tv is broekn or they are wrong an there's a LCD panel an LEDpanel version. Any help would be much appreciated! Philips isn't being very helpful an the quality difference between the 2 TVs is really bad an I need a solution ASAP because th first tv I had I loved Also could my panel just be lose or damaged or possibly just pressed to close to the screen? Trying to not let this question get buried need help! While that may be true about other brands this particular tv set is actually really good. Is that all you have to say is that it's "defective" Its a 5505/f7 series if you google that you'll see it also the TV is not that thing at all

My USB mouse stopped working? I was using my USB mouse just a few minutes ago. Now, it doesn't work. I have 2 usb ports on my laptop. I've tried inserting my usb mouse on both. Doesn't work. I also tried on my desktop. Still doesn't work. When I put it in the port completely, there's no led light under but when I kinda leave a small part of the usb part of the mouse, there's led light. When there's led light, it's blinking. I don't know what to do. :( I already tried restarting my laptop. It still doesn't work. I just got this mouse a few months ago. The brand is Philips btw.
Philips 40" 240hz LCD is way to dark, causing bleed threw? Now before anyone says my tv must be led is not. It's LCD it says so on box and tv and in reviews people have asked if it's led LCD and everyone who has it says it's only LCD. Now iv had this tv before it's the 5500 series and when I had my original it was perfect. Perfect color contrast clarity. It wasn't ever way to dark or there was never any bleed threw at all, all I had to do was turn off active light sensor and it was perfecly bright. Long story short my friend ruined my tv so I had to get another one. When my new one arrived I went threw same set up. Turned off active control. And for some reason this one is extremely dark still. When I watched normal standard definition programs on Netflix on the first tv it was fine. Not spectacular but it wasn't overly dark or grainy or anything like that. When I watch shows now more than half the screen is completely dark most of the time. When someone's on screen in a lightly lit room it casts a shadow over half of there face. I'm also experiencing extreme bleed threw that reaches out almost to the middle of the screen, which also makes the background of every show hd or not kinda grainy. I know LEDs have led edge lit and you can see little bits of light coming out of the corners but this is even worse. Why would my LCD being doing this? LEDs arent even this bad. Please tell me this is fixable. Could it be the active control light sensor that's causing bled threw and extreme darks? Could it be out of place or something? Or maybe one or more of the bulbs in the tv are lose are pressed to closely to the tv? Something's causing this it's not the settings, I have the same settings as my original tv (same exact tv) Can anybody help me please?
How much is my Desktop computer system worth? Ok, I have here a breakdown of my system. I know it may seem like alot, but I would like to know what my system may be worth if I were to sell the entire thing! Everything Works Perfectly and EVERYTHING is in Perfect condition. I will also assume selling it without the Operating System. I use Windows XP Home and it runs Flawless and FAST!! I will list my system first and then I have a few more updates I would still like to do to my system before it is complete. I am just curious how much I would gain if I sold it now compared to selling it with my finished updates. I have the Enlight EN-4203 Gamers Case Microgeek claims that my system sold as is is worth 1000-1500 depending on the buyer, and would be worth 1800-2000 after upgrades. BUT, with my system being currently used, it is worth between 800-1000 as is. and would be 1200-1500 used upgraded. So I think it is pretty good.
need help from an expert, hd tvs LCD? I recently purchased a philips 40" 240hz 1080i 5505 5000 series and let me start off by saying I bought this same tv around black friday for the same price of 519 (it was 800) an i absolutly loved it. But my ass of a friend spilled water all over it so I had to return it. I went threw a couple tvs that I didn't like until this set was back on walmart.com and I reorderd it. For some reason there is bleeding on the corners of my tv known as the edge lit LED effect BUT my tvs only an lcd? This makes it quite annoying obviously, also it makes things really dark even when im playing video games or watching a bright program. On my last set all I had to do was turn active control lighting off an it was fine but even that doesnt help on this set. Is there anything I can do besides return it an get a refurb 3-5 weeks from now? I really hope this is repairable or theres something I can do at home. Someone with good tv experts would be much appreciated. Also idk if that light problem is causing this but my tv doesnt seem as clear as the first set. Its not my hdmi cord/hd cablebox but it seems pixilated/spots jumping around/little fuzzies whatever you wanna call them. Usually on peoples faces and on the back ground of the picture idk whats causing that I was thinking about repair but honestly how long would that take an what would I have to do?
Plasma TV not turning on? I have a 50 inch approx. Philips plasma screen TV model "FTR 9965 Flat TV". It is quite old and it cost a true fortune at the time. Recently, when we turned it on, the backlight in the screen was going all wonky for a few seconds before coming right. But now when we turn it on, we get the red power LED flashing repeatedly with a black screen. I managed to get it to go again by turning it off at the wall for 30 mins or so, but when i turned it on, the backlight was going all funky and dimming and lighting again for a few minutes. It is now stable but this has happened before. What would be causing this problem, it is extremely annoying and i hope i dont have to replace the whole TV. Thanks in advance!
How calculate LUMEN /Angle of Light bulb? Hallo, i want to understand how the lumens are calculated regarding a fluorescent or Led lamps , because i found for example some Light bulbs declaring 250 lumens at 120° , and some other bulbs declaring less Lumens at same angle, but checking with the LUX-METER the second one emits more light ...( i checked e27/gu10, bulbs, spot...) So i am starting to understand that maybo most of the tech data of the lamps is fake data, and not tested .... i can understand this regarding Chinese cheap lamps .... but i am talking about the top worldwide brands .... Osram and Philips .... Another matter that i do not understand is when they declare 120° Angle , how this is calculated ? it means that in the front and on the side (within 120°) the light power should be similar ? or will decrease in which percentage ? Please some tachnician expayn me something...

Are homebase light bulbs any good ? Me and my flatmate have a lot of halogen spotlights in our flat and the electricity bills are getting quite high so were deciding to replace some of them with LEDS we saw some at homebase they were homebase own brand and philips. the philips one was 3 watts but the homebase one was 6 watts and was equavilent to 35w halogen.were thinking of buying some of the 25watt halogens in our house with the 6 watt led homebase one were wondering would this make a difference. Also are the homebase bulbs good and who makes them ? im sure the philips ones were good but the homebase ones are on offer and we need to bulk buy.

After a lively 2 1/2-hour public hearing, the Lexington City Council voted 4-1 to allow only U.S., Virginia and city flags to be flown. Personal displays of the Confederate flag are not affected. Many speakers complained that the flag was an offensive, divisive symbol of the South's history of slavery and shouldn't be endorsed by the city of 7,000 people. "The Confederate flag is not something we want to see flying from our public property," said city resident Marquita Dunn, "The flag is offensive to us." "I am a firm believer in the freedom to express our individual rights, which include flying the flag that we decide to fly," said Philip Way, a Civil War re-enactor dressed in a Confederate wool uniform despite the summer temperatures. "That's freedom to me." However the City does not limit Personal displays of the Confederate flag.Only United States owned Flag Poles in the city can have U.S.A, Virginia and city flags to be flown. City Manager T. Jon Ellestad noted that the ordinance only affected city property and wasn't specifically aimed at the Confederate flag. "They can carry their flags anywhere they want," he said. People complained "that displaying the Confederate flag is very hurtful to groups of people," Ellestad said. "In their mind, it stands for the defense of slavery." Before the rally, ordinance opponents rallied in the city park, then marched to the hearing under a parade of Confederate flags. The city received hundreds of complaints in January, the last time Confederate flags were planted in holders on light poles, to mark Lee-Jackson Day.
