LED home lighting power supply? I have recently acquired some 2.2w LED bayonet socket bulbs, I was going to buy a 12v DC power supply seeing as the data sheet calls for that. It does not specify the Amperage so i am assuming the bulb regulates its self, will I need to buy a supply that has a constant current or one that will provide the constant 12v required to run the LED bulbs? how should i wire them? In series/parallel? I have appx. 6 bulbs that I was wanting to make flexible piped lamps that came from either my wall or ceiling, all i need to know is parallel or series and whether or not i need a supply with a constant current or constant amperage

Where can i find LED lighting for my home? Options for home lighting (LED Maybe?) + Automation? Okay, let's see if I can keep this as clear as possible. I recently moved into an Apartment and noticed it had no lighting at all, except in the kitchen. My living room/bed room doesn't have any ceiling lights. I thought about purchasing a cheap ceiling light, but I would have to run a tacky cord up the wall, and deal with issues such as trying to hide the cord. I can do better than that. So the only option I can think of is having battery operated lights, that I'm assuming have a sticky side? (I've never bought any type of lighting in my life). Also, I've always lived with my Grandma so all her lights have this yellowish glow to it. When you pass cars on the Highway, you can tell a car is newer, by it's headlights, they have this white/blue-ish glow, I'm guessing I want those. I want what ever is the "new" thing. I just don't know what my options are. Also, are there such thing as lights that go on the corners of the walls? I was thinking instead of one ceiling light, maybe 4 smaller ones that go into the corners. My room isn't that big (I live in an efficiency/studio Apartment), so that might work. After that's all sorted out, I'm going to install (hopefully), an automation protocol, such as X10 and see if I can control it with my phone (I've got Android OS). Thanks! Have you tried those new LED light bulbs for home use? I see LED light bulbs for lamps, flood lights, and spot lights at home. Have you tried them and do you like them or not? They are pretty expensive yet and I still have all those curly flourscent bulbs everywhere. When the prices come down, I'm sure I'll switch to them.

Question about Halogen Lights and Home lighting Hello, I have replaced all of the halogen down lighters in my kitchen with LED lights that generate loads less power (my eco friendly self) but I have noticed that when I turn them off they stay on, very lightly lit. This didnt happen before with the halogens.I thought at first, as they are LED's, they would stay on for a bit but I came down this morning and they were still lightly lit. Is there power going through them all the time? Is my house wired wrong? If so why didnt the Halogens stay lit? Is it something to do with them needing less power? Any help would be greatly appreciated

what do you call the floor lighting you see in the cinema and on airplanes floors ? i want to buy some? I want to buy some of this floor LED lighting for my home theater but dont know what its called, I've tried googleing it but not come up with any solid suppliers. its used in the plane floor and cinema floors to direct people to an exit in case of a fire. What are the disadvantages to LED lights? Mainly for home lighting. Bad coloring? Too much blue spectrum? Supposedly they're far more cost effective. (life time, light, energy drain, etc...)

12 volt lighting for Home? Just thinking thing over. Want to install a 120 volt AC to12 volt DC converter, as the ones found in most RV's. The 12 volt would be used power 12 volt light fixtures as one found in RV's, and Marine crafts. The 12 volts could be used with a solar panel. The solar panel would be used to charge a 12 volt battery(s), and the 12 volt battery could be used to power the lights during the night. I thought of using resistors for each light within the low voltage lighting electrical wires to control even distribution of lighting. The 12 volt distribution panel http://www.bestconverter.com/assets/imag... can as a battery charger when needed. This panel is rated a 50 amps. A few more 12 volt recessed lights http://www.swego.com/12_volt_recessed.ht... mostly rated at 10 watts and these are xenon lights. The electrical lines would be anywhere from 10 feet to the longest run of 70 feet. The electrical wire would be 12/2 CL2 rated for low voltage wires. The 12 volt distribution panel will power the lights and can be used to charge a 12 volt battery when needed. I would then add a toggle switch to shut of power to solar panel when not in use. The reason I choose the 12 volt distribution panel because this system had the built in led lights for the blown fuse detection and the fuses are a safety feature in case things go bad with lights or 12 volt fixtures. There for twelve of the 10 watt recessed lights will add up to 120 watts. 120 watts divided by 12 volts will equal to 10 amps. This would still leave 40 amps for landscape light or other 12 volt lights. There are options on adding 12 volt fans, and 12 volt appliances. If needed I would add extra auxillary 12 volt transformer to power the heaver amperage fixtures .... etc... I'm thinking this setup would pay for it self with a short time once in use. what do you think? info on LED lights for growing vegetables? So I just moved to an apartment for the first time in my life. I don't have a garden, and it's driving me crazy! I want to start an indoor garden using LED lights (preferably home built, I'm handy with a soldering iron) but just about everything I can find has to do with marijuana! What are some good resources for LED grow light information that have to do with vegetables? I want to grow some greens (spinach, mostly) but mostly things like tomatoes and peppers and beans. I keep finding stuff about how to make really nice 'buds' but not a lot about how to make really nice fruit. The sheer volume of info re: illicit gardening keeps screwing up my googling! but as I understand it (from pot grow logs!) there are different wavelengths that are best for different stages of plant growth - vegetative growth vs. flowering, for instance. Gateway md7309u not charging, red LED? i got the gateway md7309u for christmas. all of a sudden i come home and the LED light that tells you it is charging is red. i turn it on, and the power thing says "plugged in, not charging". i google this and followed one way to "fix" it by taking out the battery and restarting it etc. this didn't work. i googled the model number, and oddly enough, GATEWAY doesnt have an online manual for a laptop that was preinstalled with windows 7. im really hoping this isnt an internal problem, but if you can help diagnose this, it'd be super appreciated. thanks.

Will LED replacement bulbs give me seizures? I have photosensitive seizures in response to flickering lights, including CFL bulbs and regular fluorescents. With the essential banning of incandescent bulbs just around the corner, I'm very worried about how I'm going to be able to light my home short of stockpiling incandescents. I've been looking into LED replacement bulbs, but it seems that they run on alternating current and have a flicker to them. From what I can gather, there are "rectified" versions available, but from what I can tell, these still flicker at 120 hz (I'm very sensitive, even to frequencies that would normally be too high to cause seizures in most photosensitive patients). Are LED replacements safe for me to use? What alternatives do I have to incandescent bulbs?
