Are bugs more or less likely to be attracted to LED lighting? I have an attractive LED light fixture/decoration that i put outside on the balcony and i like to leave it on at night. It is nice to sit outside and not have the glare of a regular light in my eyes. However i was curious if during the summer time this will also help in deterring bugs or possibly attract them more so?
Can I use LED light bulb on my 3-way lighting fixture? I know there is no 3-way LED bulb yet. My 3-way light fixture can be set to use 50, 100 or 150 watts. Can I replace the old bulb with LED bulb and keep the setting on 50 watts permanently? The LED light bulb actually just consumes 6 watts in this case. I just read an article that if a regular bulb is used with a 3-way switch. Should set it to "medium".
How to wire low voltage lighting to transformer? I have 14 LED lighting fixtures with 10" pigtails and the transformer (12vdc 2800 mA 36 W) which powers all of them is 5 ft away. Please advise if wire nuts or what is used to extend the wiring from the fixture to the transformer. I assume I need some kind of terminal blocks to connect the fixtures to the transfomer. How do I connect all the terninal blocks to the transformer? Thanks.
im wanting to make my old florescent light fixture in to a led light fixture? im wanting to make my old florescent light fixture in to a led light fixture im wanting to make my old florescent light fixture in to a led light fixture but im wanting to know if i just hard wire the led strip into the power lines of the house The easiest way that I can think of is buy a similar product like this one http://www.xledpanellights.com/4-feet12m-15-watt-t8-led-fluorescent-tube-light-36w-fluorescent-replacement-p-242.html will the led lights go bad?
Marineland Double Bright LED Light Fixture? I have a 45 gallon saltwater tank, and i was wondering if this light fixture is enough light for me to have hard corals. Im am confused because they are LED's If you could also provide any other information on using this light fixture or any other LED only light fixture for reef lighting that would be great! Thank you!
240 watts of LED lighting to much for corals? I just got an led light with 90, 3 watt led light fixture. There are 45 10k white lights and 45 blue ones. I put the light onto my 150 gallon tank. it is a 48" fixture and my tank is 48 inches. it is 28-30" deep ALL my corals are opened up good with this new lighting, BESIDES my frogspawn.. one is in the very middle. One is near the top and one is middle/bottom.. they have TONS of light and the temp is good.. The reason why i think that its to much is because I have some frags on the bottom of my tank that are frogspawn and they are opened up good. So what do you think? thanks
LED Lighting-Can it do the job? I am looking for a dining room ceiling light that uses LED's and can actually get the job done. I found plenty of nice looking ones online, but I suspect they do not really light the entire room. Any recommendations for LED fixtures that can do the work of 2-4 100 watt incandescent bulbs and cost under $100?
Custom LED light fixture to work with outlet? The light fixture is basically 50 5v leds connected in series. How can I make this work with an outlet instead of a battery? (I'd rather ask before I jam 2 wires into an outlet, kill myself, and the fixture.) thank you.
Good sources for DIY solar LED landscape lighting? I'd like to wire LED lighting to put under a lip at the top of my new retaining wall. A lot of the actual landscape light fixtures I've found are big/fancy/expensive. I'd like to wire something that will be solar powered and have the effect of strip lights--either by buying inexpensive waterproof LED strips and connecting them to solar power, or by going one step deeper and wiring individual LEDs to suit along the edge. I've found dealextreme.com for some parts, but does anyone know of a good resource for instructions on assembling this type of thing?
Marineland Double Bright LED lighting system? im setting up a 55gal soon and i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this product. from what i have read i don't think that Marinelands 36-48" LED lamp will be very attractive on a 55 considering it is only 36" long and the tank is 48", that would leave 6" unlit on each end of the tank. lame right? would two 24" glass hoods and two 18-24" Marineland double bright LED systems work better? or two 24-36"? i know it will cost considerably more to buy two light fixtures to accommodate that foot of darkness but i really like the LED idea. its a money saver in the long run.
LED light bulb replacement for chandeliers and wall sconces that currently use 20w incandescent bulbs? Many of the light fixtures in my house use the small Candelabra base bulbs. Although they use 20-25w per incandescent bulb, that adds up to 50w and 100w for several of the rooms (and chandeliers). ALL of these bulbs have small, individual lamp shades covering the bulbs. I've replaced most of the standard base incandescent bulbs with compact florescent bulbs to save on energy costs, and I want to do the same with these bulbs. I know there are compact florescent bulbs are available in this size, but I'm curious about venturing into LED bulb territory even if it costs extra in the short term. I'm most interested in long-term savings. Normally, LED bulbs are used for directional lighting, but with the lamp shades, is it possible to get a similar amount of light? If yes, where can I find these bulbs?
LED Commerical Lighting for small business on a budget? Opening a furniture store and design studio. Would like track lighting and recessed lights. Space is rented so want to keep budget low, but also keep electric bill low. Understand LED is energy efficient etc., but I am working with a small budget. If conventional fixtures have to do, are there any special bulbs that won't emit as much heat. Thanks
Best LED light fixture for Aquarium? I am looking to buy a new light fixture for my tank (replacing my fluorescent one). My budget is $100-130. It must be 48 inches or 36 depending on the quality Thanks.
LED vs Fluorescent hooding for Aquaruiums? Right now I have a 48inch fluorescent, the color or well the brightness doesn't look as good as some I see on the internet. Also when I look at LED light fixtures, the tank looks a lot nicer for some reason. I was wondering if this was because of the LED light, or if its the live plants because I don't have live plants.
How to build LED light fixture for Aquarium? I have a 55 gallon aquarium and want a LED light fixture to grow coral. I don't want to spend a lot of money on the LED light fixtures on the market, and I am interested in making my own. I am pretty good with a solder and I know the basics about LED's. I know I need DC, heat displacement, I am going to build a box using stainless steel. I want to use White LED's and Blue LED's. I want to design the light fixture having two pieces. One piece for the left side and one for the right. So per piece I want to have two fans on the top panel blowing down on top the LED's venting out the slide of the box. I want to have 2 rows of 20 LED's per piece, that switch white, blue, white, blue, white... etc. I also want to have a dimmer, not an off and on switch. I want to have 2 dimmers, one for the white LED's and one for the blue LED's. I want to the LED's to be bright and if I turn them all the way up it will be almost over kill. My aquariums dimensions: 4ft long, 13in wide. I need help picking out the LED's, power unit, resistors, fans and directions wiring it all up. So if y'all can leave links for places to purchase the parts to build this that would be great. Also any help about what resistors and power units to use would be great thanks for reading this. This is the dimmer I want to use but if you think there is a better one let me know thanks. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=Dimmer+for+LED+light&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=a4M&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=155720358906780788&sa=X&ei=G92RT-bMIoiWtwe78eHCCQ&ved=0CJgBEPMCMAI I just want ideas on how to do it the best way I can. It doesn't have to be professionally done, and I not trying to grow insane amount of coral.
Are Led lights as bright as fluorescent lights.? Answer: LED light is different from fluorescent. The light it emits acts more like particle light. Think of it as millions of teeny tiny BBs striking your countertops and giving back light that you can see (visible secondary radiation). They don't bounce around much after they strike, so there is very little glow (ambience) with LED. Fluorescent light is more like waves in your bathtub bouncing all over until they lose their energy. This creates a lot of glow (ambience). You can see the undersides of shelves better with fluorescent lighting. It is hard to beat fluorescent lighting for overall light per watt of electricity, but LEDs are the champions of point source light because they can be seen miles away. LEDs are chips (like computer chips). They can outlast almost any bulb. There are peaches and lemons in all products. Who knows how long a peach LED could last. OOOOH! I like that: No bulb replacement. Just add an additional light fixture. You can afford it with the savings.
Marine lighting question? How many EcoTech Marine Radion XR30w LED Light fixtures would i need 2 light a 150gal tall aquarium the tank is 48x24x34
What lighting does Starbucks use in their stores.? Okay so I was trying to find out what type of lighting they have in Starbucks (because I want it in my room)....I know they just switched to like LED but the yellowish light they have in their stores is it just their light fixtures or the type of light bulb. Because florescent lights give off this weird color. So I was wondering what they use. Thank you!
Making LED lighting for my fish tank.? Hi guys. So I would like to add some LED lighting to my fish tank. I plan to use blue LED's to simulate the lunar lighting for night time. I know you can buy the fixtures but I don't want to have to change the fixtures daily for day light, and lunar light. So I plan to buy some of those LED strips and just place them in that window in the canopy, of which the fluorescent bulb shines through. My question is how would I power these lights? Thanks for the info! =]

How many people have converted Fluorescent Bulbs? How many people have converted all their bulbs to the flourescent type? And why are the LED light fixtures priced at more than $100 when they are the outrageously cheap to produce. Does anyone prefer the incandescent to flourescent?
