Is there an adapter to convert old track lighting to new standards? I bought new pendant lights for my track lighting. When I go up to install, the new lights will not fit onto the old track. Is there an adapter to convert the old track size to accomodate for the current track standards?

Can I attach new pendant light to my exisitng track lighting fixture? I have a vaulted ceiling in my kitchen and it is hard to reach the bulbs to change, so I want to put pendant light on the existing track so I can reach a little easier, and give it a new look

I need something that isn't directional (like a spotlight), but rather more like a regular light fixture that spreads light in all directions. And I want it to be low-profile, so it doesn't extend very far below the ceiling. If this exists, please direct me to a website with an example. I'm adding new ceramic floors (probably like Roman gold or American Olean Hazelnut - still debating that). My fridge is stainless steel. I'll be adding a stainless steel stove and eventually as money permits a matching microhood and dishwasher. I need new lighting and am going with track lighting to spread the light around. In the eat in, I'm changing the pendant to another (it's awful gold and frosted dome now). I'm also adding knobs to the cabinets. Question: I like the dark bronze lights. Should the lights match the appliances in a nickel or something? Should the knobs also match the appliances? I'm thinking the dark color lends to the floor, cabinet and wall color, but I'm not sure if they will have to match the appliances? FYI: the kitchen accessories are red.

How to hook up a 12 volt battery operated bedroom? My house is old, partially derelict, concrete and in the Caribbean Sun. The electrical work is hideous. I was about to fix it the usual route then decided to think out of the box. But start small. How could I hook up a bedroom to run on 12V batteries? How many batteries would I need? How would I connect the batteries? The bedroom requires: - two drop pendant lights - one floor lamp - one set of track lighting - one outlet for cell-phone recharging - one fan, any kind Step one is to ask you how I can set this all up using batteries? (step 2, which will be another question, is how to run those batteries off solar power. The distance between the bedroom and the hot hot sun is a 16 inch hole.) Talk me through this one folks!

Should kitchen light fixtures match each other? The problem is for the connected eat in area, I want a pendant, but can't find anything similar or that I really like for that matter in red. Will it matter if the kitchen shades are red and the eat in area's is white? Or, should I give up on the red for the track lighting shades and stick to white? BTW, the kitchen is a tan/khaki color (Sherwin Williams Latte) and will have a 5ft wide accent wall that has a white door on that wall. That wall color will be a red/crimson color.
