Can I get to the Seattle Monorail from my hotel? My family is thinking about taking a trip to Seattle and we are thinking of staying at the hotel Best Western Airport Executel. I was just wondering if the monorail was in walking distance. Does the light rail turn into the monorail. Do I have to change from the light rail to the monorail? We are not renting a car. What restaurants are near the hotel? Does the monorail go directly to the space needle? Does the light rail or monorail go to the Boeing field?
Help with Track Lighting dimming issue, fire hazard? My monorail track lighting does not turn on immediately when I flip the switch, The lights do turn on after a slight delay, but they will begin dim on their own and eventually go off again after some time (perhaps 20 min ). They will go on again after a while (maybe after it cools down?) This started about two months ago when I replaced two light bulbs. I have taken the bulbs out again, but it does not seem to make a difference. What is causing this, and what can I do?
When will Denver Airport be completed to match the masterplan? It currently has 6 runways However the masterplan states it will eventually have 12 runways creating a mega airport city and by far the largest airport on earth. It would have a supersonic train travelling into Denver and a light monorail system around the airport, extra terminals would also be built. When will this plan be completed???? 2050 maybe??? Also when are they going to build the seventh runway, I heard they were seeking planning permission for it?
maxxis monorail road reviews? hi! has anyone used maxxis monorail folding tyres extensively on the road? how have they been? are they much heavier than other lighter tyres such as the maxxis flyweight 330 or 310 or kenda's climax light? i have monorails on front and back, and i ride my bike everywhere - roads, trails, uphills, downhills. i've been riding more road than usual lately though, and a lot of guys have been telling my that maxxis monorails are too heavy for long distance road riding. will buying spare climax lights or 330's and switching to them when i ride road really help a lot? thanks!
Would you like to see street lighting like this? Instead of individual lights you could have a single tube that flows through towns and cities and glows with a pale green translucency, It could also be used as a rail on a monorail system, the train sort of wrapping itself around the rail The rail runs through the train and lights the interior of the train of an evening thereby saving on costs and energy and providing a transport service that would traverse the town The only exception to this is the driving compartment which is slung underneath the rail at the front of the vehicle The whole train could be styled in a modern hi-tech way and the interiors could be comfortable and luxurious It could be finished in a warm grey tone with translucent trim 1 year ago
How do I change an MR-16 halogen bulb on a monorail system? This is really hard to explain, but what I think I have is a low voltage monorail track system. it has several different kinds of lights attached to it. Some are easy to change the bulb as you just pull the bulb out. But 1 of them has a very tiny allen screw that I recall being told I have to unscrew first. So I have the tiny allen wrench. I unscrewed the screw, so now I have access to the bulb, but the bulb wont just pull out. There are 2 tiny holes on each side of the white plastic piece that is covering the MR-16 pins. The wire that comes down from the monorail splits into 2 wires that come down into the top of the white plastic piece. It seems like I would have to stick a pin or something into the side holes that I described to release the bulb? Maybe that is not the case and all I have to do is pull really hard to pull the bulb out, but it seems like it might break if pull with too much force. if you cant figure out what i am describing maybe i can email someone a picture of this.
Should the Phoenix Metro Area have a better Mass Transit System? I have lived in Mesa all my life and the transit system here sucks. The city also just recently cut back the hours of service in Mesa all together. Maricopa county voted to install the Light Rail system and expand the existing transit system and Mesa, which is the second largest city in the valley has fought the measure despite the voters approving the action. Something needs to be done with gas prices soaring and soaring. We need more than just buses and light rail. There should have been a subway or monorail and commuter train installed in the valley years ago. So what do you think?
Would you like to see a monorail system like this? The rail consists of a single tube which of a nighttime glows with a diffused frosted white light - wtih a faint fluorescent green tinge - which doubles as an outside light source. The Train is a long, thin slablike shape which rests on top of the rail and the luxurious passenger compartment are slung underneath. The tubelike rail / light source runs through the train. The compartments thus create their own light by utilising the external light source, thereby saving costs and energy. The only exeption to this would be the driving compartment, which is a part of the slablike shape only slung underneath the beam of light. The whole thing could be styled in an minimal, angular fashion and carried out in a Warm/Smokey grey colour which would give it a cutting edge hi-tech effect. I was thinking of doing an Artwork on this theme. I think I would have to draw two rains and maybe put some cross-sectioning in to put across the effect. atlantismeditation@s…etc, you could have normal type sliding doors on the sides of the carriage, they should not interfere with anything
Seattle Monorail-Aquarium? My husband and I are going to the seattle Aquarium with our good friends daughter. I was wondering if we were to ride the Light Rail leaving Tuckwila can we get to the Aquarium? Where would we need to arrive at? West Lake Center?
Would you like to see a Monorail system like this? The rail is a single tube that can be lit at night and glows with a pale green translucency, it thereby doubles as an outside light source. The train itself has a long flat slab like roof which sits on top of the rail with the carriages slung underneath The rail runs through the train and lights the interior of an evening thereby saving on costs and energy. The only exception to this is the driving compartment which is slung underneath the rail at the front of the vehicle The whole train could be styled in a modern hi-tech angular way and the interiors could be comfortable and luxurious It could be finished in a warm grey tone with translucent trim legendary cool, I've ordered you a ticket, you can come to the launch party
is this an example of personification? "every two and a half minutes a bell and the screech of whistles announced the departure of one of the light monorail trains which carried the lower caste golfers back from their separate course to the metropolis." "a bell and the screech of whistles"

Question regarding magnetism and speed of light? This is just a crazy thought I came up with while thinking about traveling at the speed of light. I was thinking about Einstein's project where he had a war ship which was highly magnetically charged all of the sudden disappear and appear 20 or so miles in sea, with all sorts of weird effects on the crew and the ship. Although I don't actually believe it literally disappeared. My theory is that the ship just moved across to its final resting place at the speed of light, which to a naked eye would seam as if it just disappeared. Take a train in Japan which travels using magnets, the more electricity is fed to the magnets the faster the train goes. If you were to charge those magnets in ridicules amounts that train would take off like a bullet or even faster with devastating results. Its actually quiet possible, only one draw back. Gravity, But our earth is like a giant magnet in matter of fact I think this has been proven that our whole universe is all magnetism. Therefore we can move thought magnetism similar to that monorail. See where I am going with that. You may ask how would you power the magnet for it to reach that much magnetism, well that's where I am a bit stuck. How would you do that? BTW what do you think would happen to the monorail if you were to feed a ridicules amount of electricity, assuming that the wires can handle the heat. It would get larger and heavier due to gravity, but lets say this was done in non gravitational environment. Cause of course a human would die due to all the positive G-forces.
Do you think Vegas needs a subway? Forget the monorail or whatever that monstrosity is called. It's a big city block off the strip. People who drive from one casino parking garage to the next are certainly not interested. Everyone else is already walking the strip--not interested in a longer walk to the monorail and back, or the fare. Las Vegas would do well to take a page from the Hong Kong subway and light rail system. Their subway frequently exits into the subfloors of gargantuan shopping malls. Casinos could not be better suited to this treatment. The Strip is only three or four miles long for crying out loud. It is begging for a subway system. I very much agree with retired mining engineer Bill Flangas. He says he knows his holes. Vegas is a not-so-shining example of what big money does and doesn't do. I think Vegas needs a subway. What do you think? I propose that Las Vegas builds an elevated rapid transit system that would run from Henderson, north along Boulder Hwy. to Sunset. Then west past the airport to Las Vegas Blvd. Then north along the Blvd, and using the monorail right of way to Fremont St. This railroad would connect Downtown with the Strip, the airport and Henderson. Believe me, this rail line would have plenty of passengers...24 hours a day!
What is the meaning of this song? The song is designer skyline by owl city. If you havent heard it here are the lyrics Lyrics to Designer Skyline : Affection, the gifted architect Is making a draft and beautiful design The options and possibilities Are endless when we connect and re-align Collections of books and documents Arise and parade around my cluttered desk Reworking the math and measurements Until I'm convinced these plans are picturesque Like mountains in the Midwest Reaction creates the columns dark And wide like the roads around Fort Lauderdale The structures begin to take their shape Before I've designed the public monorail The turnpike and high-speed motorway Connect and enclose the quaint suburban streets The airport, the broad suspension bridge The lake and the beach where several rivers meet Compounded from the spreadsheet A city sparkles in the night How can it glow so bright? The neighborhoods surround the soft florescent light Designer skyline in my head Abstract and still well-read You went from numbered lines to buildings overhead

Your opinion on this stroller for a toddler for a trip to disney world? my niece is turning 3 in a month and will be 3yr 4mo at time of vacation. i've been to disney world many times and she has already been twice. my sister had a nice stroller but due to the every day wear and tear it had not to mention the two trips to disney world where it was probably tossed around on the plane, and in the magical express bus, and then it needing to be folded up every time we'd get on a disney bus or monorail its pretty beat up so she's in the market for a new one. she wants a fairly cheap one just cuz my niece probably won't be needing it much longer. and she's looking for one thats lighter weight and easier to fold up and smaller to store while on the transportation systems. i found this one at walmart and it looks pretty good. it has some good looking features and supposedly has taller handles than your normal cheap umbrella stroller. its only $35 (as compared to $95 for something similar at babiesrus) it says the weight limit is 50lbs and has lots of seat room. my niece is taller than your average soon to be 3yr old. she's more like a 4yr old. she's about 42 inches tall and weighs about 38lbs if that helps you in giving me an answer. i just want your opinions on it: http://thefirstyears.com/product/detail/Y11104?locale=en_US (oh and btw we prefer to bring our own stroller rather than renting one cuz you cannot take the stroller out of the parks and when its early in the morning and late at night she likes to be able to have somwhere to sit and besides its easier to have her in the stroller at the airports) a couple of you said a downside is it doesn't have a parent tray for drinks and what not but actually if you read the description it says it DOES and if you look you can see it does have quite a large parent tray. look at the different views to see it better. its more of just a fabric one cuz its got to be able to fold with the rest of the stroller but its there and it is pretty big. oh and just thought i'd mention that she's been potty trained since before the last disney world trip (august 2010) so there's no need for diapers, wipes, powder and all that jazz. they'll probably just take a smallish backpack for some snacks, water bottles, sunscreen, wallet, camera, cell phone.... so the basket doesn't need to be full sized.
Will there ever be a solid public transportation infrastructure built in Los Angeles? i just visited there recently and I have never seen more traffic in my life. I live near boston so im not coming from the country, I know all about traffic, but this was ridiculous. I saw no commuter rail system, no subway, no monorail, etc. What's going on in the Los Angeles area? I felt like i was in the twilight zone?? Just sitting there in a parking lot on the 405 at 1pm on a Wednesday, and sitting at red lights in Culver city when there was not another car in sight. what a joke.

MGM Grand (standard room) or Mandalay Bay (Deluxe Room)? My BF & I are going to Vegas to Celebrate our 5th yr Anniversary. I am 28 and he is 30 yrs old. We are not planning to gamble, get drunk, we just want romantic room including the bathroom, nice clubs/lounge and restaurants ( ideally not too expensive), we are open to walking, but would like to have some nice attractions nearby. What I love about Mandalay Bay’s: Room: his and hers lighted closets, 42” High Definition Plasma TV, desk area with wireless and hi-speed internet access, mini-bar, and nice furniture in the room. Bathroom: 15” LCD TV. Separate glass enclosed shower and bathtub. Twin vanities with make-up mirror and hair dryer. What I don’t like: It seems to be too close to the airport and not too close to the center of the strip. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What I love about MGM Grand: It seems to be in a good location within the strip Room: have a better view of the strip, nice furniture in the room. What I don’t like: No LCD TVs, they have shower/tub together. I wonder what is the walking distance from Mandalay Bay to the center/end of the strip? How does the monorail or tour buses work and how much does it cost. Thanks in advance. Please give me your opinions they will be greatly appreciated!!! We are going in the middle of June '09.
